MAP Testing

Winter MAP testing will take place next week from January 12 through January 15, 2026. Students in grades 2 through 12 will take the reading, language, and math tests. Students in grades K and 1 will take the reading and math tests.

Students in grades 4 through 12 should remember to bring their fully charged devices to school for MAP testing

Families, please help your sons to score their best by discussing with them the importance of concentrating and giving their best effort. A good night's sleep and a good breakfast in the morning will help your son to do well! Remember, Holy Cross Educators use these test scores to place students in their next year's classes.

Scholars & AP Capstone Program

We welcome any 8th-grade parents with sons interested in applying for the Scholars & AP Capstone Program to attend a virtual, informational meeting on Wednesday, January 14, at 6:00 p.m.

The Brother James McDonnell, C.S.C., Scholars and AP Capstone Program is an advanced interdisciplinary academic program that focuses on rhetoric, public speaking, and research skills.

Please click the button below to access and join us for the virtual meeting on January 14. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact either Ms. Aquilo or Mr. Arvites.

This link will be available on Wednesday, January 14, starting at 6:00 p.m.

Br. Andre Service Society

Collection Drive

As a reminder, the Brother Andre Service Society is once again collecting aluminum pop tabs from soft drink/food item cans to benefit our local Ronald McDonald House and the good work they do on behalf of families with critically ill children.

Just pop those tabs, save them, and send them to Mrs. Allerton in Room M211. There are also collection containers in front of the Middle School and High School Offices. Let's make a difference! Donations will be accepted through May 2026.

Give Back with Community Coffee

Don't forget that Holy Cross School has partnered with Community Coffee in its Cash for Schools Program this school year.

Simply collect the "Proof of Purchase" labels found on the back of any Community Coffee product, and send them to school with your son to be included in their class basket. Each month, the class with the most labels will receive a reward. Enjoy a cup of coffee while giving back to Holy Cross!

Join Us for our First Give Back of 2026

We are kicking off 2026 with the opportunity to Give Back!

Next Wednesday, January 14, grab lunch, dinner, or both when you head over to Shake Shack! Bring your family and friends and meet us at the Metairie Shack location (3501 Veterans Memorial Blvd.) from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Mention "Donation Day" at the register when ordering, or use the promo code "Donate" on the Shack App, web, or kiosk at checkout. Shake Shack will donate 25% of your total meal purchase back to Holy Cross School.

Mark your calendars because we made your dinner plans before you head out to cheer on our Varsity Tigers Soccer when they take on Country Day that night. See you at the Shack!

It's Carnival Time!
