| | Forgive For Good – Join a 3-week Book Study Convened by Katie Garvey and Pastor Andrea Beginning May 27th | | |
Tuesday, May 27th, 6:30 - 8 PM
Tuesday, June 3rd, 6:30 - 8 PM
Tuesday, June 10th, 6:30 - 8 PM
The world’s religions tell us to forgive. When a person in the crowd asks Jesus how many times we are to forgive, Jesus answers: “I tell you not 7 times, but 77 times (MT 18:22).” Unfortunately, Jesus does not say much about how we are to accomplish this. Luckily for us, Fred Luskin, a Stanford University Professor and Founder of the Stanford Forgiveness Project has developed a research proven method to help human beings forgive. Luskin and his team of researchers have written extensively on the health harms of holding a grudge; the health benefits of forgiveness; what forgiveness is and what it is not; and concrete steps to take in order to forgive.
If you are intrigued, join Katie and Pastor Andrea for three evenings. Please RSVP if you hope to attend: andrea@holy-faith-church.org
Come to the first session having read through Chapter 7 of Luskin’s book "Forgive for Good," available wherever you might buy books. Also, please come with a grievance in mind that you'd like to let go / work on (see page 10 for definition of a grievance).

Please submit names of your family members who are graduating and other details (where / degree earned / future plans, etc.) to: office@holy-faith-church.org | | A Pastoral Letter from Our Episcopal Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe | | |
The Episcopal Church is ending its nearly 40-year refugee resettlement partnership with the US government after refusing a Trump administration request to help resettle white Afrikaners from South Africa.
The church cited its commitment to racial justice as a moral imperative in a letter sent to members Monday.
Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe explained that the request crossed a moral line, and that the church would not help while other refugee programs remain largely frozen by the White House.
"The idea that we would be somehow resettling Afrikaners at this point over other refugees who have been vetted and waiting in camps for months or even years, is unfathomable to us," Rowe said.

| | 20 People Met Last Tuesday to “Organize for Action” | | |
In response to multiple government actions that offend
their Christian values, 20 people met last week to "Organize for Action." Those in attendance decided to focus our energies on protecting the Rule of Law for All, and especially for refugees, asylum seekers, and members of the LBTQIA+ community.
Under the same category of "Protecting the Rule of Law," there was considerable concern expressed also about threats to social safety nets (such as Social Security benefits, Medicaid, and SNAP).
Stay tuned for more information about how interested people can be involved in addressing these issues with collective action.
