Holy Faith Weekly Update - May 21, 2025 | | The Holy Faith Garden Buddies are Cooking! | |
Yesterday, the intergenerational team of gardeners assembled and installed two outdoor benches (one alongside the garden, and a second alongside the entrance to the church). Both benches are made from a composite material that will weather the elements.
Also, the gardeners fulfilled a dream to connect the garden to a water source. With lots of sweat equity from the Hutz Family (Alex, Alicia, Avery, and Auggie who call themselves the “A” team), the group engineered a pipeline that will run from the spigot located at the front of the building to the garden. This will make it easier to water the garden. It also means no more rust stains caused by water from the sprinkler hitting the white siding of our building.

Tuesday, May 27th, 6:30 - 8 PM
Tuesday, June 3rd, 6:30 - 8 PM
Tuesday, June 10th, 6:30 - 8 PM
The world’s religions tell us to forgive. When a person in the crowd asks Jesus how many times we are to forgive, Jesus answers: “I tell you not 7 times, but 77 times (MT 18:22).” Unfortunately, Jesus does not say much about how we are to accomplish this.
Luckily for us, Fred Luskin, a Stanford University Professor and Founder of the Stanford Forgiveness Project has developed a research proven method to help human beings forgive. Luskin and his team of researchers have written extensively on the health harms of holding a grudge; the health benefits of forgiveness; what forgiveness is and what it is not; and concrete steps to take in order to forgive.
If you are intrigued, join Katie and Pastor Andrea for three evenings. Please RSVP if you hope to attend: andrea@holy-faith-church.org
Come to the first session having read through Chapter 7 of Luskin’s book "Forgive for Good," available wherever you might buy books. Also, please come with a grievance in mind that you'd like to let go / work on (see page 10 for definition of a grievance).
