Prayer for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

God of justice and peace,

You created all people in Your image.

We thank You for the witness of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,

who called our nation to justice, love, and nonviolence.

Help us to work for dignity, reconciliation,

and peace for all Your children.

Make us instruments of Your love in the world.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

The relics of Six Mexican Priests

One hundred years ago, the Government of Mexico sought to systematically eradicate the Catholic Church. Among those who courageously refused to abandon their sacred calling were six priests of the Knights of Columbus, who chose fidelity to Christ over their own lives. For their unwavering witness, they were canonized and beatified as martyrs of the faith.

On Monday, January 19th, relics of these holy Mexican martyrs will be present at the 12:30 PM Daily Mass. Relics remind us that the saints were not legends, but real men who allowed God’s grace to work through their lives—and even through their suffering.

Please join us for Mass on Monday 1/19 as we honor these priest-martyrs, venerate their relics, and renew our own commitment to live boldly for Christ and His Church.

The videos below tell us more about the Martyrs.

Catholic Schools Week Second Collection

This year’s theme for Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” We are deeply grateful for the gift of Catholic education and for the faith-filled formation provided to our children at Our Lady of Mercy, St. Leo’s, and Bishop McGuinness.

In celebration of Catholic Schools Week, there will be a second collection at all Masses next weekend to support our Catholic School Endowment Scholarship. Your generosity helps ensure that Catholic education remains accessible to families now and for generations to come.

Thank you for supporting Catholic education and investing in the future of our Church.
