As we journey through the season of Advent, we look to our patron, the Holy Family, as a guide and inspiration. The Holy Family—Mary, Joseph, and Jesus—showed us how to live with faith, love, and trust in God, even in times of uncertainty. Their example calls us to prepare our hearts and lives for the birth of Christ, not just through reflection, but through action.

This Advent, I invite you to embrace three ways we can act like the Holy Family and bring their virtues to life in our community:

  • Trust in God’s Plan: Just as Mary and Joseph trusted in God’s will, we can place our faith in His guidance. Take time each day to pray as a family, asking for strength and clarity in the challenges you face.

  • Show Compassion to Others: The Holy Family’s journey to Bethlehem and their welcome of shepherds and strangers remind us to care for others. Find a way to serve this Advent—whether through a charitable act, a kind word, or helping someone in need.

  • Cherish Family Time: The Holy Family teaches us the sacredness of togetherness. Set aside distractions and spend quality time with your loved ones. Share a meal, light your Advent wreath, or read Scripture together to strengthen the bonds that unite your family.

At Holy Family Catholic School, our students are reflecting on the themes of Advent—hope, peace, joy, and love—through prayer and service. Let us support them by living these values at home and in our community. Together, as one family of faith, we can prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ and live out our mission of compassion, love, and understanding.

May this Advent season be filled with blessings, joy, and opportunities to grow closer to God and one another.

Thank you for supporting our Reverse Advent Calendar Food Drive! We invite you to participate however you can during our final push to help restock the shelves at Jackson Elementary School's Hunger for Heroes food pantry. Donations are being collected outside of the Holy Family Office.
