Hello, Holy Family!
You may have noticed that our LaSalle building is looking a lot better these days. I told the students at the start of the year that little things carry importance, and that we really wanted things to look fresh and nice for them because they matter to us. We contracted with a new cleaning service that has really been doing a great job, and we are very happy that this building has a fresh new look (keeping up with the clean look that Mr. Servey provides at the elementary school).
In a similar line of thinking, you will notice as promised a few weeks ago, that we have a new look on our web site effective this weekend. We have been working hard with eCatholic to make sure that it flows as organically as possible and that it is very intuitive. All of the Xavier Catholic schools will be moving to this new platform that, I think, offers a lot of benefits and no discernable drawbacks. Please do let me know where you notice room for improvement, and I will see how we can continue to improve it.
A further upgrade is coming to the newsletter as well. Later this month, we will begin using S'more to share our weekly newsletters with you. S'more is a more attractive platform, that is much less expensive than our current medium. I am confident that families will appreciate the fresh new look and will not miss anything from our previous format.
Again, I think that little things have importance, so we continue to make upgrades at Holy Family. I hope you appreciate them, but please do let us know when we can address concerns or questions that you every have.
God bless your family and our school all year long!
Zach Zeckser

Holy Family Picture Retake Day is Thursday, November 7th in the morning
.
Picture packets were sent home from St. Jude this week. Lifetouch has assured us that LaSalle’s picture packages will be here before Retake Day. If you choose to have your student’s picture retaken the original packet will need to be returned to school to be sent back to Lifetouch on Retake Day. Any student who was absent on the original Picture Day and Make Up Day will need to have their picture taken on Retake Day.

Holy Family Scrip News
"I order SCRIP cards to be used during Christmas. I order a small amount of cards each month and use the cards to purchase Christmas gifts rather than using my credit card!"
This is what one of our Scrip users has to say about our program. What a great idea! And to help with that, they just announced that some companies will have their $5 and $10 cards until December 23; great for stocking stuffers, grab bags, donations to local shelters and giving trees! See the link below for more details.
Our next Scrip order is due Monday, November 4th at 9am.

Sharing germs starts again!
We have had some lingering illnesses. Please try to let staff know why your child is staying home so we know what is out there. Children should remain at home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. If your child is vomiting or having diarrhea they should remain at home until they are tolerating their diet without vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours. The best defense against illness is good hand washing. Hands should be washed before eating food, after toileting, and any time they are soiled. Also, wash hands after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose. Hand sanitizers are a good option when you don't have water and soap available. If medication is needed at school it must be in the original container and marked with the child's name. A medication administration form must be completed even for over the counter medications. We are hoping for a healthy school year for everyone. Remember germs are not for sharing!
