Dress Code Reminder:
I like to have a dress code reminder each month. This month we will be focusing on Shirts.
Shirts must be tucked in.
Please remind your kiddos before school to have their shirts tucked in before they walk into the building.
First bell rings at 8:20 am. Second bell rings at 8:30 am. Students are considered tardy if they are not in their classroom at 8:30 am for grades K-4. If arriving after 8:30 am students will receive a tardy slip from the office to take to their classroom teacher. Students will head to their classrooms with their tardy slip after the completion of announcements, pledge and prayer.
Morning Drop-Off Reminder:
Students (K-4) not attending daycare must go directly to the cafeteria/gym in the morning with their backpacks as teachers are attending to morning duties. Preschool students may be taken directly to their classrooms in the morning and afternoon.
The FAST screening window will continue next week and runs through October 4th for Kindergarten through 4th grade students. During this time students will be given screening assessments to help us know which students may need additional support. The students complete screening assessments three times each year. These assessments help teachers see which students are likely to meet the end of year learning goals, and which ones need more help. Please be sure your students get adequate rest and nutrition during the screening window. Please be sure students are drinking water, eating well and getting plenty of sleep!
Prayers, Practices & Beliefs:
A list of prayers and other basic beliefs and procedures has been created and developed. Prayers may be introduced at one level and students may not be expected to have them memorized until the following year. However, students are expected to have an understanding of these prayers and they will be a part of our prayer at school. Parents are encouraged to practice and participate in prayer with your child at home.
We request that you phone the school by no later than 8:40 a.m. if your child will be absent. For safety and attendance purposes we need to know the reason for absence, and this saves us calling you to find out why your child is not at school. Voice messages can be left prior to 8:00 am.
Also keep in mind, students must be free from fever, vomiting, and diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
Regular attendance is a key factor in the success of schoolwork.
The value of the work and activities missed is difficult to make up.
Please schedule doctor/dentist appointments after school hours or on free days if possible.
A written note or a phone call to the office is required anytime a student needs to leave during the day. You must come into the office to sign out your child. Absences for a medical or dental appointment require a doctor’s note upon return to school.
