Contact Information Policy

To protect the privacy of our parishioners, Church of the Ascension does not share personal contact information without the parishioner's consent.

If someone requests a parishioner's contact information, the Church will not provide it directly. Instead, the request will be forwarded to the parishioner, who may then decide whether they wish to share their personal contact information.

Please keep this policy in mind if you are asked for someone's contact information or a copy of the parish directory. Parish directories will not be distributed electronically. If appropriate, you may offer to forward the request to the parishioner so they can decide whether to respond.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is at the heart of the Church's ministry and reflects Christ's call to care for one another. At Church of the Ascension, pastoral care is provided by both clergy and trained lay ministers, who work together to support parishioners during times of grief, loss, illness, transition, crisis, or other personal challenges.

Our clergy provide spiritual guidance, pastoral counseling, prayer, sacramental ministry, and referrals to community resources when appropriate. They also visit parishioners who are hospitalized, homebound, or living in care facilities.

Lay pastoral care ministers extend the Church's ministry of compassion through confidential acts of caring, including phone calls, cards, letters, personal visits, home communion, and other forms of support as appropriate. Eucharistic Visitors bring Holy Communion to those who are unable to attend worship because of illness or mobility limitations, helping them remain connected to the life of the parish.

Pastoral care is rooted in listening, presence, compassion, and prayer. Whether offered by clergy or lay ministers, this ministry seeks to provide comfort, encouragement, and spiritual support while respecting the dignity and confidentiality of every individual.
