Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, cleansing as His Bride, getting ready for His soon return as our Bridegroom-----
These days of awe leading up to Yom Kippur are a wonderful time, jew and gentile, to search our minds and hearts for blocks to God's remarkable character, including His kindness. The kindness of God leads people to repentance (Romans 2:4). To share the gospel we need to bear the fruit of kindness to open hearts.
Kindness is from knowing God, and is a key fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5: 22). David, having repented (Psalm 51), having received mercy and God's kindness, then showed the kind love of God towards Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, inviting him to eat bread at David's table always. (2 Samuel 9:1-13). For this and other acts of kindness David was beloved of God.
Jesus then directed us as believers to " love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful." (Luke 6: 35,36).
Please join me in spending time with the Lord on this key issue of Godly kindness this holy season. Are there any blocks, filters, strongholds blocking His kindness? You and I can remove those blocks, those lies from the enemy, with His Almighty Word. We are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Removing that stronghold we then are on His path, beginning to replace the lies of the enemy with His Word and His Kindness, "perfecting holiness in the fear of God." (2 Corinthians 7:1).
