Weekly message from Fr. Mike
The Gospel this Sunday reminds us when we see people in need to do what we can and to trust that it will be enough. I have seen that over and over again here at Holy Spirit Parish. Thank you for your generosity and your trust.

We are still planning to have our annual golf tournament on Sunday, August 23, 1:00 PM at Shamrock Golf course. A BBQ lunch will be served at the golf course in the form of a box lunch. There will not be a dinner at the church this year. Prizes are limited to team events only; 1st and 2nd place paid all flights depending on how many golfers we have. Please click here to sign up.

Our Summer Lunch Program will continue to serve local children until they return to school. For some districts, that date has been pushed back. We are still in great need of juice boxes and volunteers. You may bring juice boxes to the office, and if you can volunteer, please sign up here .

Do you know someone who is searching for a deeper relationship with Christ through the Catholic Church?

Food Pantry collection
The following are the current needs for the Lee's Summit Social Services food pantry:

Laundry soap, dish soap, bar soap, syrup, jello, Jiffy cornbread mix, Hamburger Helper, cans of mixed vegetables.

Please leave your donations in the red grocery card in the narthex.
Backpack collection
Each year the Spirit of Giving Program collects backpacks for children at Great Beginnings Early Childhood Center who come from less fortunate families. 

If you would like to contribute, please choose backpacks that are large enough to accommodate a standard sized notebook and that have no wheels. The backpacks are for children ages 3-5 years old, so they love the backpacks with cartoon characters. 

There will be a collection bin set up in the narthex the weekends of August 8 & 9 and August 15 & 16.
