We are a worshiping community,
building disciples of Jesus Christ
by connecting, growing, and sharing.
"God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." (2nd Corinthians 5.21)

This week we remember and reflect on Jesus' Passion, His suffering, crucifixion, and death. We look forward to Easter and the Resurrection but must first travel through the events of this week. I look forward to worshiping with you this Thursday and Friday with you. Thursday worship is at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall, with Communion and a covered dish. Please bring some food to share. Thursday's worship will not be live streamed. Friday worship is at 7pm, in the sanctuary, and will be live streamed. I look forward to worshiping with you this week. Easter is coming!!!
Peace and God's blessings.

In Christ,

“Come , Sinners, to the Gospel Feast”
(UMH 616)
Come, sinners, to the gospel feast;
let every soul be Jesus' guest.
Ye need not one be left behind,
for God hath bid all humankind.

Sent by my Lord, on you I call;
the invitation is to all.
Come, all the world! Come, sinner, thou!
All things in Christ are ready now.

“I Come with Joy”
(UMH 617)
I come with joy to meet my lord,
forgiven, loved and free,
in awe and wonder to recall
his life laid down for me,
his life laid down for me.

I come with Christians far and near
to find, as all are fed,
the new community of love
in Christ’s communion bread,
in Christ’s communion bread.

“Let Us Break Bread Together”
(UMH 618)
Let us break bread together on our knees,
let us break bread together on our knees,
When I fall on my knees with my face to rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.

Let us drink wine together on our knees,
let us drink wine together on our knees,
When I fall on my knees with my face to rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.

“One Bread, One Body”
(UMH 620)
One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
one cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many throughout the earth,
we are one body in this one Lord.

Gentile or Jew, servant or free,
woman or man, no more.

One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
one cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many throughout the earth,
we are one body in this one Lord.

“Take Our Bread”
(UMH 640)
Take our bread, we ask you;
take our hearts, we love you.
Take our lives, O Father,
we are yours, we are yours.

Yours as we stand at the table you set;
yours as we eat the bread our hearts can’t forget.
We are the sign of your life with us yet,
we are yours, we are yours.

Take our bread, we ask you;
take our hearts, we love you.
Take our lives, O Father,
we are yours, we are yours.

“Fill My Cup, Lord”
(UMH 641)
Fill my cup, Lord, I lift it up, Lord.
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more;
fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.

Call to Worship
One: A table is set before us. A feast is prepared for us.
All: A meal of bread and wine.

One: The Lord calls us to this supper of remembrance.
All: The Lord calls us to serve and to be served.
One: As we break the bread and share the cup,
All: our understanding may fail us.

One: But we will never forget Christ’s example.
All: We will never forget the full extent of his love.

“Must Jesus Bear the Cross”
J. Martin

“Jesus Loves Me”
Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong They are weak and He is strong
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so

Children’s Time

Matthew 26.17 -29

Prayer of Confession
(John 13)
Loving Christ,
on that night long ago,
you knew that your hour had come.
You knew full well what lay ahead of you.
Your disciples loved you and followed you,
but they had also failed you.
They would fail you yet again that night,
and one would betray you.
Yet you washed their feet, as a servant would.
even the feet of your betrayer.
We have also loved you and followed you.
We have also failed you,
and we cannot comprehend the love that you show us,
the love that is our example,
the love that tells us to do
as you have done for us.
May we be like you, Master, servants of all.
May all see how we long to be your faithful disciples.
May all see how we love each other,
just as you have loved us.
In your holy name we pray. Amen.

Communion

Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father,
who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on Earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom
and the power
and the glory forever.
Amen.

“How Beautiful”
T. Paris
How beautiful the hands that served
the wine and the bread and the sons of the earth.
How beautiful the feet that walked
the long dusty roads and the hill to the cross.
How beautiful, How beautiful,
How beautiful is the body of Christ.

And as He laid down His life,
we offer this sacrifice,
that we might live just as He died,
willing to pay the price,
willing to pay the price.

How beautiful the feet that bring
the sound of good news and the love of the King.
How beautiful the hands that serve
the wine and the bread and the sons of the earth.
How beautiful, How beautiful,
How beautiful is the body of Christ.

“Jesus Walked The Lonesome Valley”
Trad. Spiritual
Jesus walked this lonesome valley,
He had to walk it by himself;
O nobody else could walk it for Him,
He had to walk it by Himself.

As we walk our lonesome valley,
We do not walk it by ourselves;
For God sent His Son to walk it for us.
We do not walk it by ourselves.

Matthew 26.30-35

Piano Prelude

Call to Worship
One: Come, let us gather again in the shadow
of the Cross of Christ.
All: We gather to remember the overwhelming evidence
of Love’s ultimate sacrifice.

One: Who would have guessed that the height and depth,
the length and width of God’s love might look like this:
a forsaken savior on a cross?
All: Certainly not us. Not us, who are too often lost
amid the world’s distractions and responsibilities.
Not us, for whom such love was offered without cost.

One: Let us gather again in the shadow of the Cross of Christ
and commit ourselves to remember the price paid.
Let us live our lives in a way that indicates why
this Friday is called “Good.”
All: Thanks be to God, who opened the gates of heaven,
that we might have the faith, hope, and love,
witnessed in Christ’s sacrifice for our salvation.

 “By His Wounds”
by Mac Powell
He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed

He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed

We are healed by Your sacrifice
And the life that You gave
We are healed for You paid the price
By Your grace we are saved
We are saved

He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed

We are healed by Your sacrifice
And the life that You gave
We are healed for You paid the price
By Your grace we are saved
We are saved

He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed
By His wounds, by His wounds
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

First Word
"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do"
Luke 23.32-38
Moment of Silence

“Ah, Holy Jesus”
arr. C. Courtney

Moment of Silence

Second Word
"Today you shall be with me in Paradise"
Luke 23.39-43
Moment of Silence

“Thief”
by Mac Powell
I am a thief, I am a murderer
Walking up this lonely hill
What have I done? No, I don't remember
No one knows just how I feel
And I know that my time is coming soon

It's been so long, oh, such a long time
Since lived with peace and rest
Now I am here, my destination
I guess things work for the best
And I know that my time is coming soon

Who is this man? This man beside me
They call the King of the Jews
They don't believe that He's the Messiah
But somehow, I know that it's true

They laugh at Him in mockery
And they beat Him 'til He bleeds
And they nail Him to the rugged cross
They raise Him, yeah, they raise Him up next to me
My time has come and I'm slowly fading
I deserve what I receive
Jesus when You are in Your kingdom
Could You please, please remember me?

And He looks at me still holding on
The tears fall from His eyes
And He says I tell the truth
Today, you will be with Me in paradise

And I know that my time, my time is coming soon
And I know that my time, yes my time, is coming soon
And I know Paradise, Paradise is coming soon

Moment of Silence

Third Word
"Woman, behold your son!.... [Son], behold your mother!"
John 19.25-27
Moment of Silence

“Mary Did You Know”
Lowry and Greene
Mary did you know that your baby boy
would one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy
would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you

Mary did you know that your baby boy
will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy
will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule a nation?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect lamb?
That sleeping child you're holding is the great I am

Moment of Silence

Fourth Word
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Matthew 27.45-49

John 19.28-29

“All Who Are Thirsty”
by Brenton Brown and Glenn Robertson
All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Just come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life

Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep

We sing, come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus, come
Come Lord Jesus, come
Come Lord Jesus, come

All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Just come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life

Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep

We sing, come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus, come
Come Lord Jesus, come
Come Lord Jesus, come
Come Lord Jesus come

All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Just come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life

Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep

We Sing Holy Spirit, Come
Holy Spirit, Come
Holy Spirit, Come
Holy Spirit, Come

Moment of Silence

Sixth Word
"It is finished"
John 19.30
Moment of Silence

“Tis Finished the Messiah Dies”
(UMH 282)
‘Tis finished! The Messiah dies, cut off for sins, but not his own.
Accomplished is the sacrifice, the great redeeming work is done.

The veil is rent; in Christ alone the living way to heaven is seen;
The middle wall is broken down, and all the world may enter in.

‘Tis finished! All my guilt and pain, I want no sacrifice beside;
For me, for me the Lamb is slain; ‘tis finished! I am justified.

The reign of sin and death is o’er, and all may live from sin set free;
Satan hath lost his mortal power; ‘tis swallowed up in victory.

Moment of Silence

Seventh Word
"Father, into Your Hands I commend my spirit"
Luke 23.44-49
Moment of Silence

“O Sacred Head, Now Wounded”
J. Krug
