Greetings Holy Trinity Family,

I pray that this letter finds you doing well, and that you are continuing to rejoice in the glorious news of Jesus’ resurrection. I am thankful for the special fellowship that Christ is knitting together here at Holy Trinity. It is a joy to worship with each of you, and to spend time studying God’s amazing Word together, week in and week out.

It is hard to believe, but my family and I have been here for over 7 years! It is amazing to look back and see what the Lord has accomplished during this time and I am confident that His hand is upon us and that He has many more plans for this next season of ministry as well. The Gulf Atlantic Diocese advises pastors to take a sabbatical every 5-7 years in order to rest and prevent burnout. Your vestry has encouraged me that the summer months of June, July, and August would be the perfect time for this rest in preparation for the upcoming season.

This time away will not only allow me to rest, but also to be rejuvenated through study and to spend valuable time with Catie and our boys. You will be well taken care of by some pastors—including Bishop Minns—that I have hand-selected to fill in for me both pastorally and in the pulpit while I am away.

I know this sabbatical will not only prepare me for the upcoming ministry season, but it will also create opportunities for each of you to yield to the Holy Spirit and utilize your gifts in service of the church and the needs that may arise.

Should you have any questions about my sabbatical please do not hesitate to reach out. God bless you all, and thank you so much for your presence and service to Christ and His special outpost of Heaven, Holy Trinity.

Your Grateful Pastor,

Matt

First Coast Women’s Services:

We will be participating in the Annual Baby Bottle Campaign which kicks off on Mother’s Day. The way it works is simple. We place an order for empty baby bottles that they provide which we then distribute to our congregation on Mother’s Day to fill with spare change, cash, or checks to be returned on Father’s Day. With the money raised, First Coast Women’s Services is able to provide material support and much-needed supplies. Every cent helps serve more clients and save more lives. Once we have collected the filled bottles, the team at FCWS will process them and report the total raised.
