June 4: Holy Trinity Sunday
The Sunday that follows Pentecost / Whitsunday is the church's formal celebration of the Holy Trinity .
We will hold our Sunday service at the usual 11 o'clock hour, but we also invite you to a 10:00 a.m. reading and discussion of The Creed of St. Athanasius in the parish hall.
The Athanasian Creed is an ancient document proclaiming and verifying the nature of the Incarnation and of God as the Holy Trinity.
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, one God: O come let us adore him.

June 14: Flag Day Ceremony in Cowan
The Town of Cowan will celebrate the history, heritage, and unity of "Old Glory" on Wednesday, June 14th, at 5 p.m. in front of the log cabin court house. (Across the track from Cowan Railroad Museum.)
On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Flag of the United States with 13 stripes of red and blue, and a union of stars on a blue field.
The history of the flag also brings the legendary story of Betsy Ross who sewed the first version according to her family memoirs.
We hope you can join us for this special occasion!

"Watch over thy children, O Lord, as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be. Strengthen them when they stand, comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and their hearts may thy peace, which passeth understanding abide all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

Updates from our extended family
John Armstrong, a local resident who has visited St. Agnes' several times, is recovering from a serious vehicle crash. John is going through physical therapy and will soon have another surgery. He appreciates our prayers and hopes to be back soon to worship with us again.
Bill Keller is going through a number of transitions this summer. Bill sold his house last month and is moving into a smaller house in Cowan later in June. Additionally, Bill has started driving again and purchased a car, which is making it much easier to make it to medical appointments. He is hoping to feel better soon and be attending services again regularly in the near future.
Father Martin sent some exciting news recently: Funmi will soon be ordained into the Diaconate! We are very pleased to hear of her call to serve the Lord in the sacred order and be a greater participant in the ministry of the church. Thanks be to God!
Steve Pearson had some good news from some recent medical tests. His cancer scores are stable and his mobility is steady. Although he has days of exhaustion from chemotherapy, he also has days that are active and enjoyable. There's a possibility that his chemo schedule can be reduced during the summer to give him a longer break between treatments. Thanks be to God!
