Thank you!
St. Mary's Family,

I am so grateful for all who worked so hard to make Holy Week special at St. Mary's, including the musicians, the acolytes, those who helped with the various receptions, and anyone else I've forgotten. THANK YOU for your hard work and devotion. It was a glorious week!

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

See you in church.

Peace,
Fr. Charles

Wednesday Evenings
Beginning Wednesday, April 4th (TODAY), we will have Evening Prayer at St. Mary's each Wednesday at 6:00pm. It will be immediately followed by silent Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for about 10 minutes for those who wish to stay. The entire service will last around 30 minutes. If you'd like to learn more about Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, click here.

During the Great Fifty Days of Easter, there will be a Bible Study that begins when the service is over (around 6:30). It is the continuation of the Luke-Acts Bible Study that we've been doing since Lent began. The daily reading schedule can be found here. Unlike during Lent, there will not be a prepared meal, but feel free to bring something to share if you wish.
Solemn Choral Evensong - KC Vitas
Sunday, April 8th, 7:00pm, at St. Mary's . KC VITAs, Kansas City's premier new-music choir, is presenting the world-premiere of a new choral evensong by composer L.V. Wood. This unique service was composed with the architectural features of St. Mary's in mind and features a number of singers from St. Mary's own choir. Mark your calendars now to attend this beautiful collaboration between KC VITAs Chamber Choir and St. Mary's. Fr. Charles Everson will be the officiant.
Transgender Panel
On Sunday, April 15th, St. Mary's will host a panel of individuals who will lead a discussion on the coming out stories of LGBT people (transgender people in particular), who supported them and who did not, and their religious traditions. Hear their stories first hand after the 10am Mass on April 15th!
Healing Ministry in the Modern World
Sunday, April 22nd
Fr. Christopher Golding will be our guest preacher at both Masses, and will lead an Adult Forum after the 10am Mass.

Since the liturgical renewal movements of the 1960s and 1970s, the Eucharist has once again taken the central place in The Episcopal Church. However, the relationship between the Eucharist and the Healing Ministry is often neglected or unexamined. This presentation will explore some of the theological connections between these sacramental ministries, allowing participants to consider, in a new way, how the Holy Eucharist is indeed food and fuel for the Healing Ministry.

The Reverend Christopher Golding is Vicar of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Kailua, Hawaii. He has served in parish church and school chaplaincy positions in rural and urban contexts in Australia and the United States since 2011. A member of the Order of St. Luke from 2012 and State Chaplain in Hawaii from 2017, Christopher hopes to see a renewed interest in sacramental healing ministry within churches and in other ministry contexts. Christopher is married to Julia and has two children: Phoebe (6) and James (5).
