Dear Friends in Christ,
We now enter the Triduum, the three sacred days.
There are still spots available for the 6pm Maundy Thursday service and dinner. Simply email me if you plan on coming. Also, we have a 5am slot and a 10am slot open for the Garden Watch in the chapel. To wait and watch with the Lord in this kind of stillness can be powerful. And thanks to the flower guild, the chapel has never looked more like Gethsemane. Enter the chapel through the Beaumont door off the church driveway, using the door code. Sign up here.
The Good Friday 12pm service will begin with special music from a 20-person women's choir. During the veneration of the cross all are encouraged to come forward around the cross, to pray, to touch the wood, or simply to be close to this tree of life. You may write something you are carrying, a worry, a pain, a yearning, something done or left undone, something you would like to release to God. All notes will be gathered and burned in the fire of the Great Vigil of Easter. The 5:30pm All-Ages Family service on Good Friday has remarkable solemnity, as we slowly dim the lights throughout the service, much like a service of tenebrae. Adults without kids have told us they have been profoundly moved.
Many forget that the 8pm Saturday Easter Vigil features a full choir and this year we have new music after each reading. We also have 4 baptisms, 2 of them adults!
Sunday offers an 8am Easter Service of quiet joy, and some like to come to church that much closer to Easter dawn. If you opt for choir and brass at 9:30am Choral Eucharist, come early for a seat. After 9:25am we begin seating people in the chapel (or other overflow spaces).
May we be more deeply transformed into the likeness of Christ as we move together through his passion, death, and glorious resurrection.

Maundy Thursday Agape Meal with Liturgy
Thursday, March 28th 6:00 p.m. (Registration by Sunday March 24th required see sign up link below) Come join us as we commemorate the Last Supper with a catered Greek feast. We enter into Scripture with interactive readings, wash and prepare the church for Good Friday, and begin the vigil in the garden.

At noon we will gather for a solemn service featuring special choral music, the proclamation of the cross, the reading of the passion gospel, and a short reflection. An All-Ages service at 5:30 p.m. features a hands-on retelling of the Passion Story.

Easter Vigil
Saturday, March 30th at 8 p.m The Vigil has been the pinnacle of Holy Week since the earliest days of the church. Celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with the Great Fire, telling of salvation history, and the first (and most raucous) A----luia of Easter. A true Easter service: chocolate and champagne to follow. Easter Celebration needs volunteers for baked goods
We will be holding an expanded coffee hour after the 9:30 mass on Easter Sunday as we come together to celebrate our risen Lord.
If you can help out:
• Bake or buy: 3 dozen pieces of Baked Goods (no nuts please)
• Please bring your contribution on a disposable plate (well wrapped)

Family Stations of the Cross Hike on Holy Saturday March 30th -- 10:30am
Walking the Stations of the Cross is a powerful way to reflect on the passion of Christ during Holy Week. Introduce your kids to this ancient practice by hiking the Stations of the Cross at Holy Hill Basilica. A paved, mostly stroller-friendly trail winds through hills and woods, taking participants through all 14 stations. We'll enjoy nature and friendship while taking time to stop at each station for a brief, kid-friendly reflection.
Please RSVP to Bailey Steger by Sunday, March 24 to gauge interest and numbers, and indicate what time of day (morning or afternoon) works best for your family.

Handing Down the Faith Sundays
Designed to encourage deeper understanding

Plant Natives in YOUR Backyard!
Here's a simple suggestion that is within reach for each of us, yet if widely implemented, could be significant: plant native plants. (Milwaukee Sentinel)
"It can make a difference, you bet," said Ryan Brady, conservation biologist with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. "As we see more changes to the landscape, what people do in their own yards will only become more important to wildlife." Native plants that have deep, extensive roots do this infinitely better than turf grass or ornamentals as well as contributing as pollinators. Native plants may be ordered on-line and many sales start now. Here is a link to native plant sales in Wisconsin.
