Measure K will be on the
March 3, 2020 ballot. VOTE YES.
Our Leigh Home & School Club supports the campaign to Vote YES on Measure K which will be on the March 3rd, 2020 ballot. With the high cost of housing in Silicon Valley, passing Measure K will enable Campbell Union High School District to raise teacher salaries and attract and retain great teachers here at Leigh.
Without Measure K, we will continue to lose our best teachers to nearby districts that have more funding for teacher pay or to lower-cost areas of the state. We cannot attract the highest quality teachers unless we pay a competitive salary. When it comes time to hire a new teacher, we need to make sure we have the best candidates possible.
We need 66.7% support to pass, which means we need every single school supporter to vote YES on Measure K!

Donors continue to make a big impact at Leigh!
Our Leigh community would like to say a very sincere thank you to the Leigh families who have made incredibly generous donations to the Home and School Club during this year. In November we shared that we had received three large donations from Leigh families:
- $5,000 ... Donation + corporate match from the Gabriel Family
- $10,750 ... Donation from anonymous donor
- $24,000 ... Donation + corporate match from anonymous donor
We are excited to share that we have received an additional donation of $25,000 from a very generous anonymous donor.
The HSC, Ms. Butler and the donor have been working closely together to ensure the funds are used in the most impactful way. To date $10,000 of this donation has been allocated to purchase chromebooks (through our Giving Tuesday Chromebook Drive). We will share details of how the remaining funds will be allocated in an upcoming newsletter .
Thank you to all of our donors for making such a difference for our students and our teachers here at Leigh!

CUHSD Parcel Tax Campaign - Measure K
We need your help! Just 5 mins of your time will make a huge difference!
Passing Measure K is a community-based, volunteer effort. We need at least 66.7% of Campbell Union School District voters to vote YES on Measure K to win. Any time you can give is greatly appreciated.
Here are some things you can do that will take just
5 mins
of your time and will be really helpful in spreading the word:
- Like/share posts on Social Media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
- Sign up to get a lawn sign. This will be delivered to your home.
- Endorse the campaign
- Send personalized emails to friends using a very simple tool called Outreach Circle. Emails in your contact list that match friends who live in the district will be selected. You then choose which friends you want to receive the already created message. Quick and easy, and very effective!
There are also lots of opportunities to help that will take just

Adulting 101
This spring as our Seniors look towards graduation, there may be just a few life skills that didn't quite get covered in the four years of a robust LHS curriculum. On Monday June 1st Leigh HSC will present
Adulting 101
, a set of short, intensive workshops that will cover the following:
- Personal Finance (Budgeting etc)
- Home Based Skills (Nutrition and cooking, sewing etc)
- Professional Skills (Resume writing, interview techniques etc)
These workshops are being developed over the next few months and we could use your help! Whether you want to spearhead the entire program, one of the workshops, or simply join a group of enthusiastic adults who want our kids to be prepared for the real world, drop us a note at
president@leighhsc.org
and get on the
Adulting 101
committee.
