Budget:

• Our budget for the 2025-26 school year was approved at the August HSC meeting.
• The following grant was also approved:
• Math | 3-year license for Kuta software, which provides customizable math practice from Algebra through Calculus | $1400

Highlights from Principal Steingart

• Strong Start: A positive and welcoming beginning to the school year.
• Staffing Update:
• Six new-to-Leigh teachers joined
• New Instructional Aide and school psychologist
• Enrollment: Student population has increased to 1,920.

Highlights from Teacher Representative Ms. Smiley

• Thank You: Appreciation to HSC and parent volunteers for hosting the back-to-school breakfast.
• Tutorials: Students should check the color-coded door signs and the 5 Star app for tutorial assignments.
• Updated Policies:
• Cell Phones: Phones will now be collected on the first offense and turned into the office (no warning).
• Academic Integrity: Policy updated to address technology concerns (AI, online exams, etc.). See the student handbook for details.
• Student Life: The first rally and back-to-school dance were a success, and students are adjusting well to the new policies.

Highlights from Associated Student Body (ASB) Erica L.

• Welcome Week: ASB warmly welcomed new students during Welcome Week, helping them settle in and feel part of the Leigh family.
• Senior Sunrise: On Aug. 20, seniors gathered on the field with blankets to watch the sunrise and enjoy coffee, juice, bagels, and donuts—a wonderful kickoff to their senior year!
• Back-to-School (BTS) Rally: On Aug. 22, Leadership hosted a spirited rally with class decorations, games, cheer, dance, and KPOP performances to kick off the year.
• BTS Dance: On Aug. 22, Leadership hosted a lively quad dance with food, games, DJ music, and glow sticks—an unforgettable night for students!
• Homecoming: Planning is underway for October
