Drop-off this Sunday & Monday -- 2019 How S weet It Is in Wilton Gingerbread House Contest
Entry drop off: Sunday, December 1, from 1 - 4:30pm OR
Monday, December 2, from 10am - 7:30pm
Wilton Library and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce invite families, individuals, organizations and businesses to submit gingerbread or other edible models of Wilton houses or buildings to be put on display in the library. This year, in conjunction with Wilton Library's 125th anniversary, the theme is celebrating the past, present and future of Wilton. Entries will be judged in two age groups -- 12 & under and ages 13 to adult. Judges will choose winners from three categories: 
* Most whimsical
* Most visionary Wilton place
* Best historical Wilton place
From Dec. 3-16, visitors to the library also can vote for their favorite models. Winners will be announced Dec. 18. Winning submissions including the Community Favorite will be awarded Wilton Chamber gift certificates. Entries will remain on display through Dec. 22. For the first time ever, Wilton Library is participating in Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement of online giving on December 3, 2019 -- unleashing the power of people to transform their communities. A gift to Wilton Library is a direct gift to every member of our community. Your donations exclusively support Wilton Library's collections, programs and resources that are free and open to all. Our goal for Giving Tuesday is $3,000.  Thanks to the generosity of the Waldron Family, if we are able to raise $1,000 before noon on Giving Tuesday, they will provide a 100% match in funds!  Join our Giving Tuesday Donor Wall and make your gift here. Award-winning architect, educator and author  Donald M. Rattner visits Wilton Library to discuss  his new book  My Creative Space: How to Design Your Home to Stimulate Ideas and Spark Innovation . Learn how simple solutions for shaping your home can boost creativity and spark imagination. My Creative Space shows how readers can boost their creative output by applying science-backed techniques to the design and decoration of their home regardless of size, type, style, or location. Breast Cancer Survivors' Support Group
Tuesday, December 3 @6pm
Post-treatment breast cancer survivors are invited to join in this monthly support group led by Nina Marino, LCSW. Nina was the Clinical Directorof the former Breast Cancer Survival Center and is a breast cancer survivor.  More info & register
Holiday Book Sale
Thursday, December 5 through Sunday, December 29
The Holiday Book Sale in the gallery is a seasonal delight where bargains can be found - featuring a large array of pristine books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks suitable for gift-giving to all ages. The sale includes a diverse collection of classical, jazz, Latin and blues CDs. All CDs are priced to sell, many are new shrink-wrapped items. All merchandise is perfect for holiday gift-giving. As items are sold, new ones appear daily. 100% of sales support  the library.  More info  
Wilton Holiday Stroll
Friday, December 6 from 5:30-7:30pm
Wilton Library takes part in the annual Wilton Holiday Stroll, offering refreshments and good cheer. Enjoy the warmth of the fireplace and while you are here, take an 'ornament' from our Giving Tree to help the library with our wish list, give Hanukkah Gelt to the Children's Library for its collection, peruse the Holiday Book Sale and the art exhibition for holiday gift giving, and vote on your favorite entry for the "How Sweet it is in Wilton" Gingerbread House Contest. There is something for everyone!  More info  
Get Your Craft On!
Thursday, December 5 from 1-6pm
Make a candy dish or stone trivet; create marbleized ornaments or coffee mugs; transform a large Hurricane globe using small ornaments, LEDs and vinyl cutouts; turn a glass dinner plate into a unique serving platter; decorate glass ornaments; paint or mod-podge a clay pot...and more! Drop by between 1 - 6 p.m. The library supplies the goods; you bring the creativity. Make any two items for just $5 (while supplies last). For adults and students in grades 7+. No registration; just drop by.  More info
