Final OASIS-D Guidance Manual Available

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved the final OASIS-D Guidance Manual, effective January 1, 2019. It is available in the Downloads section, of the OASIS User Manual website , as well as, an Errata document, dated 01-25-2019.
Home Health Patient-Driven Groupings Model Call

Register for the February 12, 2019 Home Health Patient-Driven Groupings Model MLN Call. During this call, learn about the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) that will be implemented on January 1, 2020. The PDGM is a case-mix adjustment methodology that will adjust home health payments, based on patient characteristics for 30-day periods of care, to home health agencies providing home health services under Medicare Fee-For-Service.

jHAVEN 1.4.0

jHAVEN (Home Assessment Validation and Entry System) v1.4.0, currently available under the related links section at the bottom of the jHAVEN webpage , is a Java-based application which allows Home Healthcare providers to collect and maintain agency, patient and OASIS assessment data for subsequent submission to the appropriate national data repository. jHAVEN is a free software application provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Please consult the jHAVEN Installation and User Guides for additional information.

jHAVEN v1.4.0 includes the following enhancements:
  • OASIS D Data Set (effective 01/01/2019)
  • v2.30 OASIS Data Submission Specifications
  • v8119 Home Health PPS Grouper
Interested in Serving on an IDR Panel?
 
Kentucky requires one member of the IDR panel to be "a person currently engaged in the provision of Home Health Agency services who has no affiliation with the provider disputing a deficiency." Typically, a Home Health Agency Director is on each IDR panel. There is no payment or travel reimbursement for a Director serving on a panel. Directors will be rotated. If a Home Health Agency Director is interested in serving on a panel, a confidentiality statement must be signed prior to the participation in the first IDR panel.

Home Health Agency Questions and Answers

Home Health Agency (HHA) Providers can access the Home Health and OASIS Q&As and other reference manuals on the HHA Providers Reference site .

These Questions and their responses have been developed over many years of experience training OASIS coordinators and are currently used as part of the Home Health Agency Surveyor Training program. They can and should be used by home health agency providers in training new staff on the basics of OASIS and also as a refresher for existing staff.
