Darughs Return from European Vacation
With family - Jennifer and Karen - Gayle and I fled the U.S. for two weeks of travel through Europe.  We started at Lake Como in Italy for three days and then drove to Basel Switzerland to board the Viking Alruna. Then 7 leisurely days on the Rhine with visits to the Black Forest, the Medieval village of  Colmar, Alsace, Strausburg, Heidelburg, Cologne and Amsterdam.   We ended the cruise with 2 days in Amsterdam. Great food, wonderful wine and we love the centuries of  preserved art and architecture of Europe as seen through castles, museums, wineries, farmers markets, historic villages and cathedrals. Third Film Crew of 2019 Visits Beechwood Inn - November 2019

The cast of Hillbilly Elegy stayed at Beechwood Inn during filming in June (Ron Howard Production). Since then we have been occupied by two "Hallmark" productions. Our area of North Georgia offers some stunning scenery for big and small films. And Beechwood Inn's end of road location offers great seclusion for both big and lesser known stars. Plus, we can offer private dining, wine and personal service. Sorry for our other guests having to rub elbows with famous and some not yet famous stars. That's Glenn Close and Bo Hopkins at Beechwood Inn during filming of Hillbilly Elegy. We read the book and appreciate J.D. Vance's memoir of his Appalachian upbringing The Netflix movie will debut in 2020 and we'll alert you  when it is scheduled to show. We await the movie and can't wait to see our gracious guests in charac ter!
