More Habitat Homes Coming to Long Beach

United States Representative Nanette Barragán, the U.S. Representative for California's 44th Congressional District, joined Long Beach City Councilmember Al Austin II for a $500,000 check presentation to Habitat LA in the city of Long Beach. The funds will help us break ground on our newest 8-home development, which will sit on the site of a former library. Orange Ave will become home for low-income, first-time homebuyers. We’re thankful for the amazing support from Long Beach Community Development and the Long Beach Community Investment Company.

Ready to volunteer? Bring a group and join the crew of change-making volunteers who are helping us make homeownership possible! Starting June 25th until October 26th, we can host 5 groups of 20 for 4 days a week between Wednesday - Saturday. Gather your dream team of volunteers from your school, company, organization, or church. We are ready to welcome you all to our Holmes development. It’s the site of eight new homes in Los Angeles’ Florence-Firestone community.

It’s National Homeownership Month, and it’s our mission to make affordable housing a dream come true for first-time homebuyers in greater Los Angeles. In this heartwarming video, we ask volunteers, homeowners, and staff—to fill in the blank: "Home is where the ___ is." A Day of Impactful Volunteering at our Home Sites

Volunteers from LA2050, Gay for Good Los Angeles, and future Habitat LA partner homeowners, joined us at build sites in South LA and Lancaster for a day of volunteering in honor of the LA2050 campaign. LA2050 is an initiative driving and tracking progress toward a shared vision for the future of Los Angeles, and we believe affordable homeownership is a fundamental part of this goal. Our volunteers contributed to building a better LA through voting for a meaningful cause in the campaign, and by working directly with us to build homes and hope. The volunteers helped us paint, install drywall, and much more!
