As a board member for the Somerville Community Corporation, I often make a case for supporting the organization.
Despite the fact that it has been a trying year for everyone - perhaps precisely because it has been such a difficult year - supporting SCC is even more important.
We hope you will consider giving at whatever level you are able to give to maintain affordability and diversity in the city.

complicated world with family and friends. This holiday, 35 families are celebrating moving into their new homes at the Union Square Apartments.

CEO Forum: Home for the Holidays

At Somerville Community Corporation we received a sort of holiday present
when we were issued our Certificate of Occupancy for the 35 new affordable apartments at 181 Washington Street the day before Thanksgiving.
More importantly, that meant that 35 deserving households would get to move into their new housing for the holiday season.

Raise Up MA and the Fight for $15
|
On November 29, the Raise Up Massachusetts coalition announced that it will be introducing legislation next year to raise the state minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2021.
This would affect almost one million low-wage workers in the state, including many in Somerville working in the restaurant and retail industry.

Update on Clarendon Hill/North Street

Somerville Community Corporation is moving forward with our partners Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and Gate Residential in planning for the potential redevelopment of the Clarendon Hill/North Street public housing in West Somerville.
