From the Pastor:
Grace and Peace to you! Welcome to our second edition of HomeWork! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the great reception and positive responses we've received in our efforts to keep you informed and connected to what's going on at The Home. Without the diligent work that you do, we would have no content. Without your desire to be informed, we would have no audience. Without your partnership, there would be no ministry.
Please know that you are welcome to submit news, ideas, praise reports, and even request more information by contacting us at info@sweethomembcgary.org. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Now, go and do your HomeWork!
Marlon C. Mack, Sr., Senior Pastor

Member Spotlight:
Bro. Joshua Henderson
According to Joshua Henderson, a senior at Purdue University – West Lafayette, this past year has been very eye-opening to say the least. One eye-opening experience being the advancements of his political views from before the pandemic – he is looking at things from a different lens. His Christian faith has even been re-examined since the acquisition of his new knowledge, and Joshua has come to realize that the example Jesus set for us has not been followed at all. His once favorite scripture: Philippians 4:13 – ‘I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me’, has been replaced with Matthew 19:24 – ‘And again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God’. This scripture painted a very real picture for the young Christian; discovering a horrific parallel between Jesus' words and the present condition of our world. He urges all of us to use Jesus' life as the perfect example of equality, learn as much as we can about the world around us, and be open to alternatives when it comes to making real changes in our environments – whether they be political, societal, or spiritual. May God have mercy on us all.

Christian Education Corner
Greetings and blessings, brothers and sisters in Christ! I praise God for His manifold blessings; as we continue to come together in prayer and the study of God's Word during the time of this pandemic. There is strength in the Word of God.
Thank you to all who are diligent in their attendance to Church at Study every Sunday morning at 9:30am! We are not a traditional Christian Education ministry - we are wholistic and relevant; ministering to the mind, body, and spirit.
We completed our study of Gentleness this month. Colossians 3:12 says, "Put on therefore, so the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering". I Thessalonians 2:7 says, "But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children".
If you have any questions or comments, please contact the church at (219)97-1400, or Rev. Ervin at (219)977-1101.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Beauty Ervin
