This is the Lord's doing, and it's marvelous in my sight!

July was an exciting month. We climaxed our celebration of 14 years as Pastor. I want to thank each of you for all you've done and continue to do for the cause of Christ. We were also blessed to witness the rebirth of our Male Chorus! As we celebrated our Annual Men's Day, God's Mighty Men led us in worship. I am looking forward to our women leading us this month as we celebrate our Women's Day and our IMPARTATION revival.

Additionally, I am anticipating our Annual Church Fellowship, which this year will be coupled with an Evangelism effort led by SASSY! I thank God for your fellowship and partnership in ministry!

The Member Spotlight for the month of August is Min. Gwen Cooper!

Min. Gwen is a part of our ministerial staff, the Minister of Congregational Care, and an active participant of our SASSY Women's ministry!

She is a vital contributor to the Sweet Home family and strives to exhibit the love of Christ at all times!

During her time at Sweet Home, Min. Gwen has endured many physical trials and tribulations. Through it all, she has never wavered in her faith, and you will always see her pushing through her pain to give all praise and thanks to the Almighty God!

Min. Gwen comes from a big family in the south, and shows that familial connection with her aunts, Sis. Carolyn and Sis. Liz, who also attend Sweet Home. She also has two sons, and three grandchildren.

Min. Gwen led the charge for our Nursing Home ministry, creating an excellent template for us to follow moving forward! Currently, we aren't able to physically go into the nursing homes, but Min. Gwen never fails to lift the residents up in prayer privately, as well as on our Corporate Prayer Line.

We thank God for the presence and leadership of Min. Gwen Cooper, and praise Him with her for His Faithfulness, Grace, and Mercy!

SASSY (Saved And Sanctified Sisters Yielding) is the Women's Ministry of our church. Every woman in our faith family is a member of this ministry. These women work tirelessly year round in support of our church and its other ministries. We salute our SASSY sisters and Ministry Leader, Min. Stephanie Harden, for their dedication and diligence to Kingdom building!

Praise God for another month! Our God is so wonderful to us! The Holy Scriptures say,

"O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Thy Name in all the earth! Who hast set Thy Glory above the Heavens" Psalm 8:1

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night." Psalm 1:1

We thank our young people for being so faithful in Church-At-Study and all of the worship services. We appreciate and shout out Kelice Pettis, Rashawn Johnson, and Lauren Pettis for having PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the months of May and June!

Our young people were a very important part of our 101st GMBSCI, Inc. State Annual Session! They rallied with the youth, who were led by Min. Stacy Webb! We are proud of their accomplishments and participation during class and rehearsals.

They will continue to shine during our Brotherhood District Youth Vacation Bible School at Van Buren MBC. It will take place Monday, July 25th - Thursday, July 28th, at 6pm nightly. On Friday the 29th, there will be a bowling tournament with the youth versus the adults! We will climax at Hidden Lake on Saturday, July 30th at 11am, where the entire district will partake in a Fellowship event!

Finally, we thank the adults for their faithfulness during Tuesday night's Church-At-Study, where we are receiving very informative and much needed biblical teaching.
