Sweet Home 2021:

"MAKING MINISTRY EFFECTIVE"
"Be thou watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry"
II Timothy 4:5
From the Pastor:
Grace and Peace to you! It gives me great pleasure to greet you in our inaugural edition of "The HomeWork" . Virtual Worshipper Salute:

Sis. Judith Rogers was a faithful member here at The Home for nearly 10 years before her relocation. While here, she was a faithful member who served in our S.A.S.S.Y. Women's Ministry, was active in our Sunday School, and a great supporter of our church! Since her move, she has continued to stay connected. Although her presence is greatly missed, we thank God for her kindness and generosity. In June of this year, we will be awarding to our graduates, The Philip & Judith Rogers Scholarship, in honor of her and her late husband, Deacon Philip J. Rogers, Jr.
Thanks for all you do, Judith!
Member Spotlight:
"Being Thankful for the New Norm"
'In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.'- I Thessalonians 5:18.

Sis. Lillian's hope is truly in the Lord. She has had to adjust and accept the changes that came with 2020 and the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. She attests that change is never easy; even challenging. Her faith and trust in God has been tested, and she testifies that the Lord has strengthened her to learn how to live with the "New Norm". From ZOOM Thanksgiving to drive-by visits with the grandchildren, Sis. Lillian uses technology and social distancing protocols to remain connected to her friends and family. She is especially thankful for Pastor Mack for his obedience to the Lord, as he utilizes technology to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She feels blessed to be under his leadership. While she misses the hugs and the in-person visits with her close-knit family, Sis. Lillian remains obedient to the wisdom of God's instructions for her safety. Ultimately, she is thankful to God for His keeping power, and His favor on her life!

Ministry Highlight:

The Hospitality Ministry of the SHMBC is one of the most consistent ministries of our church! If you attend worship in-person, they are usually the first people you see and play an integral role in setting the atmosphere for your worship experience. If you worship with us virtually, stay tuned, we are working on ways to incorporate them into our virtual experience. This ministry is ably led by Sis. Vera Reed, and is comprised of Attendants Leroy Sims and L.C. Mangum, Ushers Rena Brown and Crystal Henderson, and Greeters Derrick Brewer and Ron Williams.
