From the Pastor:
Grace and Peace to you! We're so glad that you've chosen to do your homework with us. I am so excited about what God is doing in this time. As I engage our membership, I am awestruck at how God continues to open doors, make ways, heal bodies, and meet needs. I am even more amazed at the faith of those who are going through adverse circumstances yet believing that God is working things together for their good.
As your Pastor, I want you to know that I weep with you who weep, and rejoice with you who rejoice. Know that whatever your circumstance or situation, I am praying with you and for you, that God's perfect will be done in your life. Until next time, be blessed on purpose!

Virtual Worshipper Salute:
Yolanda Patterson is a native of Gary, IN, graduating from Lew Wallace H.S. in 1986. After serving in the U.S. Army, she currently resides in Fayetteville, NC with her family. A licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Addiction Specialist, her favorite scripture is Psalm 121:1-2, because she always knows where to look for help. At her former church she served as an usher, but worshipping virtually has allowed her to do what she's always wanted to do in ministry. Each Sunday she directs the virtual choir! We thank you for worshipping with us, as well as your continued support of our ministry!

Member Spotlight:
Sis. Annie Aldrich
Sis. Annie is such a jewel to have in the Sweet Home family! She is active in the S.A.S.S.Y. Women's Ministry, engages in our lively discussions during Church-at-Study, and serves on the Beautification ministry. Whenever she is asked to pray, there is never a hint of hesitation, because her favorite pastime is talking to her Heavenly Father. When asked what she wanted to share with the HomeWork readers, this was her response:
"My heart is full of gratitude of how good God has been to me and all of my family. I thank Him for all of my church family, and truly our dear Pastor! The Lord gave me supernatural strength during the time of my daughter's transition to Glory. I didn't know how I was going to get through it, BUT GOD!! Thank you, Lord! In Jesus' Name, Amen!"

Ministry Highlight:
Agape is one of the Outreach/Evangelism Ministries of our church. This ministry focuses on ministering to the residents and staff of our local Nursing Homes. In addition to worshipping at the facilities, Agape also sponsors special drives throughout the year to let the residents know they are loved and thought of. Agape began with the efforts of Min. Gwen Cooper, who has been assisted by Gail Mangum, Emma McCloud, Annie Aldrich, Robbie Johnson, Rev. Beauty Ervin, and Min. Stephanie Harden.

Christian Education Corner
Greetings, Sweet Home Family - in person and virtual! The Church-at-Study hour is so enlightening and spiritually fulfilling to the people of God. The Holy Writ, God's Word, for the month of April was "JOY/REJOICE". We learned that Joy is not happiness, yet they are related in many ways. In the Christian's life, it is not complete without Joy because it is essential and eternal. It comes from God and is one of His characteristics. It is the second fruit of the Holy Spirit, Galatians 5:22, it follows LOVE. The Holy Spirit uses this templet to teach and lead us through His Word, answering these questions:
What is It? Why do we need it? How is it exhibited? What does it look like?
Some Scriptures of reflection are: I Thess. 5:16, Psalm 16:11, Psalm 98:1, 32:10-11, 33:1; John 15:11; Ecclesiastes 4:4-11; Romans 12:8-28, Romans 8:28.
