From the Pastor:
Greetings! It is my prayer that this edition of HomeWork reaches you in the best of health and spirit.
This is the Lord's doing, and its marvelous in our eyes! I praise God for the 59-years of dedicated, diligent, and dutiful ministry her at The Home. God continues to bless us to be a beacon light in this community, and I thank God for all that you do to avail yourselves to His plan and purpose for us as a church family. Let us continue to make ministry effective, in His Will, for His Purpose, and to His Glory!

Member Spotlight:
Sis. Robbie Johnson
Sis. Robbie Johnson, is a faithful member of The Home as a part of the S.A.S.S.Y. Women's Ministry and a singing tenor in the Sweet Home Choir! Her presence goes back many years, and she is considered a pillar within our family.
Sis. Robbie has 3 loving children, and one awesome grandson! Through trials and tribulations, her motherhood and "grandmother"-hood have proven to be rooted in her faith in the Almighty God. She is often heard saying that God is good all time, and He is always blessing her!
As faithful friend, she shows up when she is needed, ready to give an encouraging and truthful word to keep her loved ones grounded and focused on the Lord. With her roots being in Eufala, Alabama, where her mother still lives a full, God-led life in her 90's, lets us know that her southern upbringing has shaped her into the amazing Woman of God that she is!
We thank God for Robbie, and her gift of faith that she shares with the world, while speaking the truth in love!

Virtual Worshipper Salute:
Mary L. Ervin Dudley/Crittenden
She was born to the late Deacon James Ervin and our own Rev. Beauty Ervin. She became a member of the Sweet Home Church family and was baptized at an early age, during the leadership of the late organizer Pastor Udell Gibson.
Sis. Mary sang in the Little Angel choir, the youth choir, the 25-voice tabernacle choir, and the mass choir. She was also active in Sunday school and bible study, as well as the pastor's aid committee.
Mary loves serving the church, so when she relocated to Jackson, MS, she joined St. Luther MB Church. Because of her rigorous work schedule as Sargent within the Jackson, MS prison system, she was unable to attend regular in-person services there, and her virtual membership at Sweet Home has become a pillar in her faith walk to this day!
Sis. Mary has 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and takes pleasure in loving on them. She also enjoys riding motorcycles. Praise God for her virtual presence here at The Home!

The young people of our Sunday School ministry greet you in the precious name of Jesus our Savior and Lord! We invite all adults in our ministry to come with their families to share in a blessed occasion! On the 1st Sunday in November (7th), at 8:30am we will be hosting a Thanksgiving Breakfast! The teachers - Sis. Gail Mangum, Rev. Ervin, and Sis. Reed, will host this special day along with the children!
As you can see from our pictures, our youth Sunday school ministry is growing, and will continue to do so! God alone is worthy of the Honor, Glory, and Praise!
We are especially grateful for the return of Sis. Vera Reed to our teaching team :)!
