From Our Pastors

Traditionally, at this time of the year our parishes have held a Homecoming Sunday. Apart from welcoming everyone back from the hiatus to regular programing that often occurs over the summer, the occasion provides two important opportunities.

One, to announce the committees, ministries and programming for the upcoming liturgical year, and two, to solicit support and participation in those activities.

Given the restrictions around COVID, this year’s Homecoming has a slightly different flavor. Thought supported by messaging at masses, our Homecoming this year is virtual.

Below you will find a list of committees and activities. Despite the restrictions we remain active and engaged.

There is one notable absence from this year’s listing, our liturgical ministries. Because of the limits on numbers and a concern for safety we are holding off asking for further participants at his time. Hopefully the New Year will bring the opportunity to return to some version of normal.

In these unusual times, many of us are looking for ways to maintain hope and enjoy the gift of life. Living faith, like anything organic, requires regular care and nourishment. Please look through the listings. You will find plenty of ways to stay connected, contribute to good works, and, just as importantly, keep faith, hope, and love alive.

The Sister Parish Committee of St. Boniface
We celebrate the almost two decades of our sister parish relationship with St. Mark’s Parish in Lokitaung, Turkana, Kenya, which we also support financially. This vast parish lies in a drought and poverty ravaged, largely undeveloped region. Our sisters and brothers in Christ are largely semi-nomadic pastoralists. They are noted for their courage, music, basket weaving, and rearing of goats and other livestock. Our blessed relationship connects us more directly in a meaningful way with the vast universal Catholic Church. We regularly pray for each other and celebrate each other’s feast days.
