We are Back! & 2021 Homecoming Open House
Dear Michigan Alpha Alumnus Brother:
We hope this e-newsletter finds you in good health and prosperity. Later this fall, the Phi Delta Theta (PDT) Michigan Alpha Alumni Association plans to provide alums with a comprehensive update about the good progress on the reestablishment of the Michigan Alpha active chapter.
In the meantime, the brief summary is that the active chapter was reestablished on April 10, 2021, and currently has more than 50 solid men. The new active chapter is comprised of a diverse group of students from Michigan and states across the nation who are studying a range of academic fields while engaging in many different activities on campus. Active chapter members are living in 1437 Washtenaw for the first time since the end of the 2017-2018 school year.
The active chapter seeks to expand its ranks through recruitment in the Interfraternity Council Rush Program that currently allows bids to be awarded early in the Winter Semester. If you know a student at the University of Michigan (U of M) who has a potential interest in joining a fraternity, we encourage you to contact us at pdtumich@gmail.com.
If you will be in town for the Michigan vs. Rutgers football game this weekend, the Alumni Association welcomes you to join us for our 2021 Homecoming Open House which will take place at 1437 Washtenaw on Saturday, September 25, 10 a.m. to noon. Unfortunately, the "house across the street" is not holding the Mud Bowl this year until Saturday, October 23, but we can still reminisce about past PDT Homecoming glory.
The Alumni Association will be providing complimentary light breakfast food and beverages to alums and their guests on the front porch of the chapter house. You are welcome to go inside, but we ask that you wear a mask per the COVID-19 risk mitigation guidance of the U of M Administration and Washtenaw County Health Department.
You may park your vehicle on the chapter house's front lawn during the U of M football game on Saturday subject to five conditions.
First, do not park on the driveway (front or rear) or block the paths to and from the driveway.
Second, strictly comply with PDT General Headquarters' risk management policy that prohibits the use and, or, possession of alcohol and other government-controlled substances on PDT-owned property.
Third, you will be held responsible for paying the cost of repairing any damage to the lawn and, or, property caused by your vehicle.
Fourth, the Alumni Association, Michigan Alpha House Corporation and Phi Delta Theta (General Headquarters and active chapter) are not responsible, and shall be held harmless, for any damage to your vehicle and, or, injury to persons that may occur on the property. Parking on the property is 100% at your own risk, and we have no ability to provide security for vehicles and, or, people.
Fifth, the City of Ann Arbor's ordinance requires that a vehicle parked on a residential lawn during a U of M football game must be moved to an approved parking area immediately following the end of the contest. An unmoved vehicle could be issued a parking fine by the City, and be removed from the property at your expense.
