Mark your calendars: The 14th annual Hyacks Football Tailgate Auction - presented by River Market, will be held on Saturday, October 14th at LaPerla Ballroom. It is the largest fundraiser of the year for the football program. For more details on how you can get involved with this fantastic event, please contact:  Mary-Beth Philip
The Hyacks presented, Jason Dallavalle, the chair of the New West chapter of KidSport, with a cheque for $1,000 as part of their fundraising from the Travis Lulay and Solomon Elimimian kids camp that was held in May.

KidSport is a national not-for-profit that helps financially disadvantaged kids play sports and has helped support hundred of kids in New West over the years.
With the season just around the corner, the Varsity Hyacks are looking for help in a number of areas off the field. The most pressing need is for additional game night staff. If you are interested please contact Tamara Vining to  get more details. Our program has always received outstanding parent and community support, so we expect 2017 will be no different. We look forward to making you an even bigger part of the Hyack family!

Homecoming 2017 is coming up this Friday, Sept 8th, as the Hyacks will celebrate their 15 year anniversary, along with another exciting game. The whole community is invited to cheer on the Hyacks Varsity team as they take on the Mission Roadrunners at Mercer Stadium.
The pre-game festivities start at 4:00 p.m. with the annual flag football challenge for Hyacks alumni. Family-fun starts at 5:00 p.m. and features on-field kids' activities like the bouncy castle and football toss.
And of course, you could WIN a pre-owned Ford vehicle in a raffle, courtesy of Key West Ford.

The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. just after the game ball is parachuted onto the field by the B.C.Sky Diving Team. For those out of town fans who can't attend the game, it will be broadcast live on
Hyacks Football thanks media sponsors the New Westminster Record.

A smaller than usual Hyack Varsity squad took to the turf at Mercer Stadium last Friday night, falling 51-14 to Scappoose HS. The Indians are perennially one of the top 4A programs in Oregon. Kinsale Philip found Mathew Lalim for TD pass in the 2nd quarter, while freshman QB Andros Dancey connected with sophomore receiver Kirk Bothwell for a 4th quarter TD. Dancey and Bothwell were both playing in their first ever high school game. Finn Stark, Anthony Dillman and Arjun Bal were among those who played well for the Hyacks

The JV Hyacks will finally get their first game action of the season, when they face Seaquam on Thursday at Mercer Stadium. A number of JV players have already seen action this season with the varsity squad. Linemen Pavan Kainth and Vishaan Narayan, running backs Himat and Mahtab Garcha, along with the likes of defensive backs Taran Birdi, Greyson Planinsic and QB Payton Meyers, are all looking forward to playing key roles with the JVs.

The RCHFC Youth teams began the regular season on Monday, September 4th with all of our tackle teams playing at Mercer stadium, in what we like to call Hyacks Football Family Day!
The Hyacks scored a pair of 4th quarter TDs to stage a thrilling come from behind 27-20 win over South Delta. Harj Grewal led the way with a pair of TDs. Jaxson Domville scored the game winning TD in the final minute, while Umayr Afendy scored the other Hyacks TD and also stood out on defense. Other big contributors defensively were Jacob MacCumber and Jordan Baba.

The Pee Wee's lost to a very good Cloverdale team, but still managed to come up with a few highlights. Defensively, safety Andrew Van den Driesen and linebacker Gregory Palmer were always around the ball. Offensively Braiden Grant and Jack Fralic each caught passes from Jovin Minhas and Gavin Garrett respectively.
The Atoms posted a very impressive 43-6 win over Langley. Mateo Mcdonell scored a pair of TDs with Daniel Penalver kicking 3 PATs and rushing for one. Christina Terzariol scored a TD and also threw a big pancake block! Nigel Desrap and Eli Smith each scored TDs and also played well on defense. Special shoutout to lineman Jason Rithaler, Guido Catania and Zafar Hassanali for blocking well all game!
The Hyack Orange and Black teams opened the season against each other and played to a 12-12 tie. Jai-Shon Llewellyn opened the scoring for the Black team with a long TD run. Rowan Boivin then connected with Jack Chambers for a rare passing touchdown! Team Orange came back late with touchdown runs by Lucas Ward and a last play score by Austin Zhang.
