April is National Minority Health Month (NMHM) a time to raise awareness about health disparities that continue to affect people from racial and ethnic minority groups and encourage action through health education, early detection, and control of disease complications.
The DEI team is currently in the process of scheduling informational trainings on Health Disparities in the African American and People of Color Communities for Dayton and Columbus staff through the Minority Health Departments in both cities. Look forward to a calendar invite coming soon.
Also, the DEI Team would like to recognize World Autism Awareness Day (2nd), Easter (9th), LGBTQIAA+ National Day of Silence (14th), Yom HaShoah/Holocaust Remembrance Day (evening 17th – evening 18th), Ramadan (ending 20th), Gathering of Nations Native American Tribes (21st-24th) and Earth Day(22nd).
