April 2022 News
Introducing Blanket Coverage!
About now, you are probably asking, "What is this newsletter? It looks different than my usual news from The Charles Bruce Foundation." You are to be commended for your observation skills. This is not your usual newsletter, but if you have been following past Charles Bruce Foundation news, you know that what began as a successful local memorial blanket project in 2021 in Carlisle is now going on the road to the Capitol Lawn in Washington, DC. We believe you deserve a separate news source for this, so for at least the next nine months until the showing of the national blanket on December 21, 2022, welcome to our news from The Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project! Better yet, become a valuable part of this blanket coverage by visiting the new Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project website using the link below to create a blanket for your state, volunteer time, or donate to the project.

Mainly National
News from The Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project is destined to come from across the nation since the goal is to have every state in the country produce and distribute 100 blankets with ten from each state being delivered to Washington D.C. for display on the Capital Lawn. One of the first news stories we have for you comes from Maine where fifth-grade students at Wentworth School are working together to quilt blankets to support the project. Maire Trombley, a fifth-grade teacher at the school, saw the project as an opportunity not only to help her students better understand the challenges of the unhoused but also to learn the practical applications of mathematics. You can hear the extensive coverage given to this story by local NBC affiliate WCHS using the link below.
