Remembrance in April?

We may not know where we will be on December 21st this year, but we do know where we will be on April 22nd-back in Washington D.C.! The United States Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case of Johnson vs. Grants Pass, a critical case originally filed in 2018 determining that it is cruel and unusual punishment to ticket or arrest people for sleeping outside when they have no other safe option. The Homeless Memorial Blanket Project has put out a call to collect handmade blankets and quilts for display outside of the US Supreme Court Building this April. Watch the memorialblanket.org website for up to date details on our trip to the Supreme Court.

Match Reminder

On March 1st, Charles Bruce Foundation alerted you all to the launch of the 2024 Partnership for Better Health Match Madness campaign. Although this is our monthly Homeless Memorial Blanket Project newsletter, we didn't want you to forget that donations designated to the Charles Bruce Foundation through this campaign also benefit our efforts related to the unhoused. With the matching funds we will receive, there is no better time for you to make your giving count! Use the button below to go directly to the Match Madness donation page, or simply use your phone's camera to launch the page directly.

Maine-ly Blanket Drop-off

Yes, the supporting graphic is for an event on March 27th at 6 pm featuring two of the authors of American Roulette. While we would be honored to have you share in the discussion with Pat LaMarche and Andy Carey, we are actually offering an opportunity for our blanket making friends in Maine to drop-off blankets for the April 22nd event at the Supreme Court. If you can knit, crochet, or quilt a blanket before March 27th, we would happily add it to the collection to take to the United States Supreme Court.

Facebook Features
Social media sharing has been an indispensable way to grow the outreach of Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project. To make it easier for you to contribute important news to the feeds, you can use the old standby #memorialblanket to get you post directly to our social media sites. Better yet, we have the additional hashtags related specifically to unhoused children, #youthhomelessness, #babiesneedus and #babiesinhomelessness. Keep those posts coming!
