Time To Mail Your Blankets

Are you like one of our blanket makers in Delaware who called to find out where to ship this (pictured left) and four other blankets this week? Are you a state coordinator needing to advise your blanket makers about shipping during a busy holiday season? We are here to help! Please remind your folks to send those blankets to #memorialblanket, 5 Ascot Lane, Carlisle, PA 17013. If they need assistance with the postage, please reach out to Pat at epicjourney10@gmail.com.

Flash Request to Blanket Makers

We still need blankets - if you have any you would like to get into this year's display in Pennsylvania from another state and want help, give us a shout by emailing us at epicjourney10@gmail.com. Your creation should be seen as we make this effort to open others' eyes to the plights of the unhoused.

So Much More

The Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project (#memorialblanket) has placed its primary focus on getting your blanket creations into the hands of the unhoused. This year, our focus is shifting slightly. In addition to handmade blankets, we want to put special attention on infants, children, and youth experiencing homelessness. If you wanted to participate but didn't have time to make a blanket - or can't, we would encourage you get involved by bringing kids needs - diapers, formula, bottles, etc., and we'll get them distributed along with the blankets.

Fresh Off the Truck

The Santa Shack, Carlisle Square at 2 Hanover St., Carlisle PA 17013 is dropping off the truck, getting ready for your Carlisle area blanket drop-offs. Beginning December 10 and ending December 20 between the hours of 3:30-5:30 pm, we will collect your handmade blankets and quilts, PLUS any infant supplies you might be able to provide.

Remember, if you live within the central Pennsylvania area, we would love for you to come to the State House in Harrisburg and hand deliver your blanket and maybe the blankets of a few friends between 9 am and noon!

Don't Forget Our Friends in Akron

Although we are proud to bring the Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project back to central Pennsylvania, we don't want you to miss out on a delightful opportunity to take in hand crafted pieces of art. Our friends at the Facebook group #MemorialBlanket - Ohio will also be highlighting their own local exhibit. If Harrisburg, PA is too far, you might try visiting this blanket display in Akron, OH. We have included the details in the inset to the right.

Facebook Features

Social media sharing has been an indispensable way to grow the outreach of Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project. To make it easier for you to contribute important news to the feeds, you can use the old standby #memorialblanket to get your post directly to our social media sites. Better yet, we have the additional hashtags related specifically to unhoused children, #youthhomelessness, #babiesneedus and #babiesinhomelessness. Keep those posts coming!
