12 RESOURCES ON TRAUMA AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

The vast majority of people you serve are trauma survivors. Severe trauma rewires the brain and is responsible for many of the self-defeating behaviors we see and difficulties that people face in their journey to employment. As a multiple trauma survivor myself, I know that you cannot be as effective as possible in workforce development without understanding this powerful barrier to employment. But many of the articles and resources about trauma do not connect it to employment and careers. This collection of information focuses on that connection.

HOW TEXTING CAN ENHANCE VIRTUAL SERVICE DELIVERY

These two free services can help your work. Click on the names of the services for more information. TextNow is a free service that allows users to create an alternative phone number for calling and texting. It has features such as voicemail, group texting, and conference calls. Frontline staff can text clients using TextNow, which allows them to safeguard personal phone numbers and maintain a degree of privacy. Remind is a free online platform that streamlines virtual contact both in groups and one-on-one. In addition, frontline staff can make announcements to an entire group. Remind does not require users to share personal phone numbers. Frontline staff can easily send files to clients, such as informational packets and worksheets. I am listing these free services as a public service not as an endorsement of these products.
