Homes Tour Rescheduled
The 2020 Hyde Park Homes Tour will be rescheduled for 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will change the rotation from even years to odd years and will continue to be held every other year.

Schools Closed Through End of School Year
Governor Mike Parson announced that all Missouri public and charter schools will remain closed through the remainder of this academic year with the exceptions of nutrition services and child care that are outlined in our recent health order .
Meal Distribution
Kansas City Public School District has re-started meal distribution free-of-charge for their students.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Northeast Middle School (4904 Independence Ave.)
  • East High School (1924 Van Brunt Blvd.)
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School (4848 Woodland Ave.)

Spring Leaf & Brush Pick-Up
AND Special No-tag T rash Week
April 13-17
Spring leaf & brush curbside pickup will take place next week on your regular trash collection day. More info HERE

Additionally, next week is a special "No Tag Week" in which residents may place up to 12 bags at the curb.  Regular trash rules  apply. No hazardous waste or bulky items.

Leaf and brush must be place separately on the curb.

Meanwhile, Michael Shaw (solid waste division manager) still encourages everyone to continue recycling. “Unfortunately, about 70 percent of what we pick up now could be recycled and there’s no limit on recycling pick-up.”

Public Feedback Needed for Art at KCI New Terminal
Participate in the public art process happening now for the new terminal and parking at Kansas City International Airport. The public is invited to watch, learn and participate in the “Arts & Culture at KCI” presentation and survey in an online format. Now is your chance to get informed, comment and discuss your vision for art at the new single terminal and parking garage at KCI. The online presentation and survey are available by clicking  here .

You’ll also be able to submit public comments and feedback via an online survey link at the end of the presentation. The survey will be available online through April 20, 2020.
