Verizon IndyCar Series - Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio
Ohio native son Graham Rahal led the Honda attack Sunday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, finishing third at the Honda Indy 200 to continue an impressive streak of results in the second half of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season.
A large crowd, including nearly 10,000 Honda associates from multiple central Ohio Honda facilities, filled the 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio road circuit on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Starting fourth, Rahal battled fellow Honda driver and Indianapolis 500 champion Takuma Sato in the early part of the 90-lap contest. Moving ahead of Sato after the first round of scheduled pit stops, Rahal then spent the remainder of the day fighting with Will Power for second, as eventual race winner Josef Newgarden pulled out a comfortable lead at the front of the field.
Pirelli World Challenge - Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio
The RealTime Racing Acura NSX GT3s found progress hard to come by this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, but the driving duo of Peter Kox and Ryan Eversley did a strong job of maximizing opportunities during Rounds 6-7 of the Pirelli World Challenge campaign.
Kox, who actually debuted the Acura NSX GT3 at Mid-Ohio a year ago, posted the team's best finish of the weekend with a sixth-place run on Sunday. Eversley started the weekend with a 10th-place run on Saturday, then fought off tough competition in Sunday's 55-minute race to place eighth.
IMSA - Continental Tire Road Race Showcase, Road America
Hard work throughout a difficult weekend at Road America netted the Michael Shank Racing team and Acura little reward, as both cars were forced to retire from Sunday's Continental Tire Road Race Showcase.
Red Bull Global Rallycross - Atlantic City, NJ
Olsbergs MSE (OMSE), with 24-year-old Sebastian Eriksson, captured Honda's fifth podium finish of the year Sunday in Round Nine of the 2017 Red Bull Global Rallycross season. The third doubleheader event of 2017 featured some of the most intense racing of the season to date.
F4 US Championship - Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course set the stage for true Cinderella stories for the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda mid-season event. While Kyle Kirkwood of Jupiter, Florida, pulled away in the point championship, leading 75 points over new second-place holder Raphael Forcier of Montreal, competitors from the bottom of the standings rose to the top-10.
Verizon IndyCar Series: Pocono IndyCar 500
Alexander Rossi, Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Graham Rahal and a heroic Ryan Hunter-Reay were among seven Honda drivers to contend for victory Sunday at Pocono Raceway, the second and final 500-mile race of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series. But a third-place result for Rossi was the highlight for Honda, as an off-sequence pit strategy paid huge dividends for Penske Racing, with Will Power and Josef Newgarden finishing 1-2 at the end of 200 hard-fought laps.
