The Celebrate Annapolis Juneteenth VIP Gala committee honors a "Difference Maker" in our community- Delegate Shaneka Henson. She is the first African American female elected to the office of Delegate representing Annapolis in the Maryland General Assembly. Since her first term, she has worked on behalf of the citizens of our city, county, and state.
Please join Annapolis Juneteenth on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 6pm as we pay tribute to those who make a difference! We are proud of our native Annapolitan representative in state government.

Honor Fallen Heroes for Memorial Day
Honor men and women from Annapolis by donating flowers from your gardens or store to be placed on graves of our fallen heroes. Drop off flowers on Saturday, May 27th at St. Anne's Cemetery (corner of Northwest Street & West Washington Street) at 9:00am-12:00pm.

Family Fun for Memorial Day
Honor the legacy of Memorial Day with family fun time on Saturday, May 27th, 12:00pm-8:00pm at Truxton Park. Take part in a free frisby clinic at 2:00pm-3:30pm or join a game of kick-ball at 4:15pm-6:00pm.

Gun Safety Lock Giveaway
Residents 18 years and older can receive up to two gun safety locks at the Busch Annapolis, Eastport-Annapolis Neckand Glen Burnie libraries. No library card is needed to participate, and no proof of residency is required.

Bates Legacy Center Quilting Project Kick-Off Rally
The Board of Directors of the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center will host the first of a series of meetings and work sessions at 1101 Smithville Street, Annapolis, MD 21401, on May 31, 2023, at 5:00 PM. We plan to create four historic story quilts to document the four decades ('30s, '40s, '50s, and '60s) of Wiley H. Bates High School. Come to this meeting and help us Relive the Journey and Celebrate the Legacy of Bates by completing these quilts which will be on permanent display at the Legacy Center. Bring your memories, memorabilia, and ideas to be considered to help tell the story of your schooldays.

Arts Council Mini Grants
Mini Grants support arts programming by nonprofits or community organizations that will benefit an underserved audience or fill a community need. Partnerships are highly encouraged, and a 1:1 cash match is required.

Childcare Expansion Grants
The Prekindergarten Expansion Grants program is now available to both private childcare providers and Local Education Agencies, providing $13,000 in funding to each eligible child.

Volunteer Anglers Wanted
Maryland Department of Natural Resources needs your participation in their Striped Bass Volunteer Angler Survey. The information you provide helps the Department of Natural Resources monitor harvest and catch data.

Roadwork in Annapolis
Some notable changes to parking, traffic flow and street closures will continue through the end of 2023:
- Bladen Street in-bound and outbound closed on 4/17/2023.
- Parking in Carroll Street Garage remains open during this time.
- Pedestrian traffic down Bladen has been altered, hindering the ability to travel beyond the Senate Building main entrance and HOD Building main entrance.
- This closure of Bladen Street will also close College Ave. at Church Circle (see MOT plan)

- First Baptist Church of Annapolis, 31 W. Washington Street, gives away pantry bags and prepared meals every Saturday, 11 am - 1 pm
- Discoveries: the Library at the Mall in Westfield Annapolis Mall, gives away baby/infant supplies and menstrual products every Saturday from 10 am - 12 pm.
- Cornerstone Church: Rotating HACA communities on the second Saturday of each month (May - Bloomsbury, June - Eastport, July - Morris Blum, August - Robinwood). Each giveaway will be 12:30pm 2:30pm.
