Each year on August 7, our nation observes Purple Heart Day, a time to honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the men and women who were wounded or gave their lives while serving our country.

Establishment of the Aeronautical Division of the U.S. Army Signal Corps

Established in 1907, the Aeronautical Division of the U.S. Army Signal Corps marked the beginning of organized military aviation in the United States.

U.S. Coast Guard Birthday

On August 4, we celebrate the 236th Birthday of the U.S. Coast Guard, honoring its founding in 1790 when the Revenue Cutter Service was established by Congress at the request of Alexander Hamilton. A big thank you to the dedicated Coast Guard members and their families for their unwavering commitment to protecting our nation's waterways, ports, and coastlines.

V-J Day

Commemorates Japan's announcement of its surrender in 1945, effectively bringing World War II to an end. The day honors the courage and sacrifice of the millions of Allied service members whose dedication helped secure victory and restore peace.
