Veterans Day is Friday November 11!
Many ways to honor those who have served.  
I hope you'll join me in honoring the men and women who have served our country in the military on Veterans Day, November 11. Numerous events are planned in West County, and at the Board of Supervisor's meeting on November 8.

Tuesday, November 8

What: Board of Supervisors ceremony,
focus on 25th Anniversary of Desert Storm; keynote speaker CalVet Secretary Dr. Imbasciani; Live4Box presentation, poetry reading by Bill Nelson. 
11 a.m. to noon, November 10
Board of Supervisors Chamber, 651 Pine Street, Martinez
Immediately  after the ceremony, gathering at the Martinez Veterans Hall, 930 Ward Street, Martinez.

What: Luncheon for Veterans (free)

What: San Pablo Veterans Day Event   -- color guard procession, songs, refreshments. 
When:  10 a.m. to 2 p.m., November 11

What:  Pinole Historical Society's  Veterans Day Memorial,
with traditional flag retirement ceremony, singing, tributes, school groups.
When: 11 a.m. to noon, November 11 (Noon luncheon for veterans at the Pinole Senior Center; for details and tickets call 510-784-9802. Note: tickets sell-out fast.)

What: El Cerrito Veterans Day Flag Placing (on veterans' graves), with youth groups. Refreshments. Flags supplied. Sponsored by the El Cerrito Lions Club.
