Honor and Remember Loved Ones
at Angels of Light

The Hospice Tree for Life is a long-standing tradition of
St. Tammany Hospital Hospice. Each year at the Angels of Light event, the Tree for Life is lighted in a beautiful holiday ceremony. In addition, the tree is decorated with Tribute Angels. Each angel represents a special person who is being honored or memorialized by a friend or family member.

Every light on the Tree for Life symbolizes the extraordinary care and comfort that is provided to all hospice patients.

Join us for the 2018 Angels of Light ceremony to honor or remember your loved ones.

Year-End Giving
At the end of each year, many donors turn their thoughts toward charitable giving. It is an opportunity to not only make an impact that year for a cause that is important to them, but also to receive a charitable deduction for the tax year. Every gift, no matter the size, has significant and meaningful impact to the needs of St. Tammany Parish Hospital in caring for our community.
While one of the most popular ways to support the work of St. Tammany Hospital Foundation is through gifts of cash that can be given outright or pledged over three-to-five years, the foundation also offers a huge range of additional giving opportunities, including non-cash gifts such as real estate, securities or insurance policies and planned gifts like charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities and most importantly, bequests. If you are considering make a year-end gift to support St. Tammany Parish Hospital, we invite you contact us today so we can work together to fulfill your philanthropic goals.

On Thursday, November 1, the foundation hosted its annual Donor Cultivation breakfast. This event is an opportunity to bring foundation and hospital leadership together with donors and friends to bring them up to speed on the work of the hospital.

This year, St. Tammany Parish Hospital CEO, Joan Coffman, and COO, Sharon Toups, presented on the vision of the hospital's future, the upcoming expansion and the potential new technology that will be incorporated into care delivery.

Echoing the importance of technology innovation were Dr. Paul Stahls, electrophysiologist with Covington Cardiovascular Care, and Bert Lindsey, STPH rehabilitation services manager.

Dr. Stahls spoke about the cardiac care program at STPH and the new cath lab with a state-of-the-art bi-plane catheter machine that was recently introduced, allowing him and his colleagues to treat more patients, more effectively. It is his hope that STPH will soon become a destination for cardiac care in our state.
Bert Lindsey discussed his department's efforts to treat chronic or acute musculoskeletal pain without the use of opioid medications in an attempt to combat opioid dependence before it starts. His program has received national recognition for its work on making non-pharmacological modalities the norm, as we fight an increasingly troublesome opioid epidemic.
Thank you to everyone who attended. This event continues to be a great way for the foundation to spotlight growing programs while demonstrating how it partners with the hospital to improve quality care, access to care and meet the healthcare needs of our community through the generosity of our donors.
