Our community is full of Black business-owners offering food, fashion, art, entertainment, and more. Check out the lists below so you can revisit old favorites and/or shop somewhere new! (Bonus: The Main Project Cafe is so new that it hasn't made it onto either of the lists yet.)
21-Week Equity Challenge

​​​​​​​The 21-Week Equity Challenge is an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how inequity and racism affect our lives and communities.

Participants receive an email each week, starting Feb. 1 and ending June 21, with prompts and resources to understand internalized racism and explore how racism permeates systems.

The Association for the Study of African American Life and History, which founded Black History Month, creates and disseminates knowledge about Black History. Its website houses books, collections, essays, and other learning materials.

History shows us that the invention of whiteness is directly related to the existence of an economy that depended on the enslavement and control of Africans and their descendants. Understanding this is key to understanding the legal and social system we have today.

Vaccinations were introduced to America by Onesimus—while he was enslaved here. Black history is rich with often overlooked events and figures like this. In order to understand our country, we need to understand how Black people helped to build it.
