Service Spotlight: David Johnson, Habitat Board President 2019-2021
David Johnson, having successfully completed his two-year term, will step down as Habitat for Humanity of Denton County Board President, effective June 1.

Mr. Johnson will ceremoniously pass the torch to new Board President Glenn Ward at the Habitat Board Retreat on June 5. Glenn Ward currently serves on Habitat’s Board of Directors as President-Elect.

Mr. Johnson’s leadership from June 2019 to June 2021 brought positive strategic change to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County and initiated momentous changes within the organization. In just two years, even amid COVID-19, Mr. Johnson has led Habitat to a substantially better financial and organizational position than ever before.

Habitat for Humanity of Denton County would like to express deep gratitude to its Board of Directors and to the generous leadership of outgoing Board President David Johnson.

A Toast to "Party with a Purpose"
The first annual "Party with a Purpose," held on April 17, 2021, raised over $38,000 to help fund one of the first homes in the Habitat Village! Members of the Greater Denton/Wise County Association of Realtors' Party with a Purpose Committee presented the check at our Board Meeting on May 20, 2021 at the ReStore. We toasted to the success of this event and the continuation of a wonderful partnership. We can't wait for next year!
Remembering our Heroes
This Memorial Day, we honor and remember those brave men and women who have served our country. Our offices will be closed on Monday, May 31. The ReStore will be closed on Monday, May 31 and Tuesday, June 1.

Habitat for Humanity of Denton County has a special interest in serving the veterans in Denton County. If you or someone you know is a veteran in Denton County in need of a new home or home repair, please call us at (940) 484-5006 or email lora@hfhdentoncounty.org for more information on applying.
The ReStore's New "Big Ass Fans"
Thanks to Habitat's Board of Directors, we were able to install two new "Big Ass Fans" in the ReStore! Since the ReStore is not temperature controlled, summers in the past have been brutally hot for our staff, customers, and volunteers. These fans, installed just in time for the summer heat, will ensure a cooler and safer environment for all.

Come to the ReStore to check out just how big they really are! While you're here, check out our great deals (all chandeliers are 25% off!).
