NAMIC-Mid-Atlantic  held its "From Film to Festivals" event in early June at the NCTA headquarters. Rob Stoddard, SVP, Industry & Association Affairs, NCTA - The Internet & Television Association hosted the event and Michelle Ray, acting executive director, Walter Kaitz Foundation moderated the panel.  Sangeetha Subramanian, client engagement manager, Nonprofit HR and NAMIC-Mid-Atlantic president organized the extremely successful discussion. 
NAMIC-Denver held their "Emotional Intelligence for Diversity and Inclusion" event on June 7 featuring speaker Donnylane Ambrosine, professor, Colorado State University and publisher of CULTURS magazine.

Black Panther basically won the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards. A queer young Black man, who plays both a rom-com movie dreamboat and a TV superhero, won Best Kiss. Beyoncé proteges Chloe X Halle performed "The Kids Are Alright," promising to "bless you with some culture." Lena Waithe took home the Trailblazer Award. Zazie Beetz simply told everyone how to say her name properly. And, superstar Tiffany Haddish hosted the whole damn thing, because she's ready. These were the Blackest Golden Popcorn Awardsfests in history.

Caribbean Heritage Month commemoration was adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2005 to recognize the significance of Caribbean people and their descendants in the history and culture of the United States.
