CONGRATS SUMMER LEARNERS

This month, we were thrilled to award readers a variety of end-of-summer prizes and one $1,000 education scholarship for completing the Summer Learning Challenge. Teens and adults also took home exciting prizes. A big thank you to everyone who joined us in reading and learning all summer long!

The Summer Learning Challenge is an annual library tradition that helps kids keep their skills sharp, prevents Summer Slide and sparks a lifelong love of reading. Research consistently shows that library summer programs support students in returning to school ready to learn. We’re already looking forward to Summer 2026!

The Summer Learning Challenge programs—along with many of our year-round library events—are made possible thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Redwood City Library. The Redwood City Library Foundation provides funding to ensure all Summer Learning Challenge participants receive free books.

NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS

Got extra books, puzzles, or DVDs? Bring them to the Friends of the Redwood City Library's monthly donation event on Saturday, September 20!

Here’s where to drop off:

• Downtown Library – 1044 Middlefield Rd | 10am–Noon

• Redwood Shores – 399 Marine Pkwy | 10–11:30am

Your support goes toward funding programs during the Summer Learning Challenge, storytimes, career workshops, teen events and more.
