Republican Men's Club welcomes George Little

How the GOP seized Moore

George Little was present for the revolution in the 1980s when the Republican Party began making inroads across Moore County.

Little shares his memories through the decades during a keynote speech during the Oct. 21 Men's Club luncheon beginning at noon at The Country Club of North Carolina.
Moore County school board
moves to silence opposition
The Moore County Board of Education has elevated its stance toward engaged citizens from dismissive to hostile. The latest evidence is that opposition to the Board now is characterized as posing "threats" to members.

As reported October 1 by The Pilot, "Chief Arthur Frye of Moore County Schools Police (photo nearby) reported (a) threat to the State Bureau of Investigation on Sept. 13 under advice from the (country) sheriff’s office. Frye filed a formal incident report on Sept. 21, two weeks after someone reportedly left a threatening, after-hours voicemail on the district’s human resources line."

Meanwhile, during the September 22 board meeting, member Ed Dennison called for attendees to be physically removed for applauding a speaker. Chair Libby Carter warned of physical removal by Frye's officers of anyone who refused to wear a mask. Threats for thee but not for me?

These threats of removal are not backed by any reasonable legal authority. Masking of students and others inside Moore Schools facilities is the result of a recommendation by the county health department, an unaccountable, unelected body that takes its cues from the discredited federal Centers for Disease Control.

In a presentation before the Moore school board October 4, county administrators all but acknowledged masking has not been very effective by reporting weekly new virus cases ranging from 85-153 students between August 23 and September 20.

In a September 30 letter by county health department director Robert Wittmann, continued masking is defended based on a seven-day average of 44 new (virus) cases per day and percent positivity (per 100,000) of 14.2%. Per 100,000?

This transmission rate is arbitrarily rated as "high" by the CDC, but a "low" positivity rate is less than 8%, a difference of approximately 6,000 cases. This standard fails to make a strong defense of continued masking.
U.S. Attorney General
targets activist parents

The Attorney General has joined forces with the FBI to muzzle parents who exercise free speech to oppose school board mask mandates and to limit parental access to curriculum approval. See the ominous October 4 letter below.
National, state school board
groups move to mute dissent

The National School Boards Association (NSBA) has written a letter to President Joe Biden, requesting “federal law enforcement and other assistance” to cope with angry parents concerned about their children wearing masks in school all day and learning concepts of Critical Race Theory (CRT).

The NSBA “respectfully asks for federal law enforcement and other assistance to deal with the growing number of threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across the nation,” the letter reads. Read more. (Source: Breitbart.com, October 3, 2021)

Closer to home, leaders with the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) reached out to Gov. Roy Cooper and lawmakers, asking for help with tension at local school board meetings over (Wuhan virus) school mask policies.

Ignoring the expanding bodies of evidence discrediting the efficacy of masking children, the NCSBA claims, "There are increasing numbers of disruptions and cases of verbal abuse by protestors. Boards chairs have been forced to recess or adjourn meetings. There were accusations of one attendee bringing a weapon to a school board meeting. Property has been damaged. School board members and staff have received threats. Security has been significantly increased at board meetings." Read more. (Source: Education First Alliance NC, September 27, 2021)

Adorable pawns

By Steve Woodward

Parents have begun to accept that their kids can’t breathe in school. Turns out there are a lot of things they can’t do.

They can’t read. They can’t add and subtract. They can’t stop thinking about sex. They can’t reason. They can’t wait for Thanksgiving Day to be over.

In a world turned upside down, educators demand (pretend) that students will be absolutely safe but are not concerned, apparently, that they know absolutely nothing. Read more.

Moore Republican Women
earn national recognition

Moore Republican Women have been in the forefront, not only in Moore County, but also across North Carolina, where MRW leaders have traveled to other Republican Women's clubs to have them join us in the fight to keep Critical Race Theory out of our schools.

Due to its leadership, MRW recently received the prestigious "Caring for America" award from the National Federation of Republican Women during the federation's September convention in Orlando.

MRW also was recognized for its support of armed services statewide.
Voter registration is
never out of season

launches American Movement

Americans are in the midst of what writer Thomas Klingenstein calls a “cold civil war,” which is a war, he writes, “over the American way of life. The war is between those who salute the flag, and those who take a knee. Those who believe America is built on freedom, and those who believe America is built on racism. Those who are convinced America is good, and those who are convinced America is bad. These differences are too large to bridge. This is what makes it a war.” Learn more.

School board watch

In its October 4 work session, the Moore County school board heard a report about Wuhan virus cases that all but proved masking of children has had no significant impact on cases and quarantines. Cases and quarantines have remained steady but are declining as the virus variant wanes, as predicted. There was no discussion about severity of illness.
