President's Message

As we celebrate National Hospital Week, I am honored to speak on behalf of MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society, to pay tribute to the incredible individuals dedicated to our hospital systems.

This year’s theme, "Healing Happens Here," perfectly captures the determination of our healthcare heroes. Hospitals are not merely buildings; they are the heart of our community’s wellness and the frontline of hope.

Every day, hospitals serve as a beacon of comfort and resilience. This week, we recognize and appreciate every team member who contributes to the success of these institutions: physicians, nurses, technicians, therapists, environmental services, food service staff, administrative personnel, and volunteers.

Without your collective dedication, compassion, and professionalism, our community could not thrive. You have navigated unprecedented challenges with immense courage, proving that you are essential to the fabric of our society.

To all hospital employees, thank you for your tireless commitment to patient care, for the late nights, the unwavering commitment to excellence, and for being there when our loved ones need you most.

Please join us in celebrating our health care heroes, not only during this week but throughout the entire year.
