THE PROCESS

Dear Friend,

As Mental Health Awareness Month continues, we’re reflecting on the many ways creativity can support connection, self-expression, and emotional well-being. In this special edition, we’re sharing moments from our Spring Spectacular, and a closer look at the role art therapy plays in mental health care every day.

Program Update- Record Breaking Spring Spectacular

Our Spring Spectacular on May 7 was a remarkable evening, with a sold-out event and record-breaking support. Most of all, we were reminded of the warmth and generosity of this community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. Because of you, access to art therapy continues to reach those who need it most.

In this special anniversary video, we’re sharing the stories and perspectives of the people who have helped make our work possible.

How Art Therapists Process Through Art

"Response Art" is a vital part of the therapeutic process.

By creating art after a client session, our therapists can process complex content, engage in self-reflection, and ultimately provide more attuned support for their clients.

What is Art Therapy?

We get this question a lot, and for subscribers new to the scene, we explain how art therapy combines the creative process with traditional talk therapy as a form of mental health care.

I am truly humbled by how our community has grown over the years and the impact our work has had throughout the city and beyond. The Art Therapy Project is all about fostering a sense of belonging, connection, and support—always important but especially during these times we are living through. This May, I invite you to join us in observing Mental Health Awareness Month by making space for your own self-care and strengthening the connection we share as a valuable community.
