Honoring National Recovery Month

September is National Recovery Month.

“Every Person, Every Family, Every Community,”

emphasizes that recovery is possible for everyone. Treatment can help people with substance use disorders recover, and can save lives.

National Recovery Month promotes and supports new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the recovery community, and the dedication of service providers who make recovery possible

People overcome substance use disorders every day. This National Recovery Month, we encourage you to help support a friend or loved one who may be experiencing addiction.

Addiction Can Happen to Anyone

One in 7 Americans report experiencing a Substance Use Disorder, and there is not one single cause that leads to addiction. People may use substances to cope with trauma, stress, or help with mental health issues such as Anxiety or Depression

Addiction is Treatable

There are effective ways to treat addiction, and finding the right treatment can be crucial in the path to recovery. It may involve medication, twelve step group facilitation, outpatient therapy or inpatient treatment.
