Honoring Wall Street’s Moms: Celebrating Resilience and Supporting Balance

By Christine Lee, Liquidnet

2025 STA WIF Chair

Summer is here! With Mother's Day just behind us and summer vacation right around the corner, it's an important time to tip our caps to the mothers of Wall Street. We celebrate the women of the financial industry for their intelligence, drive, and leadership. We also celebrate mothers for their strength, guidance, and compassion. Together, these traits bring a unique perspective to the world of finance, with more women than ever in senior roles contributing to the success and vitality of our markets. Wall Street’s Moms adeptly handle demanding roles—early trading sessions, late client meetings, and market pressures—while reamining a steadfast support system to their families.

STA WIF's main pillar is to advocate for the unique career needs of women in our industry, and the strides to support working mothers have come a long way over the decades—flexible work arrangements, extended parental leave, and return to work programs have all helped mothers continue their careers confidently. With the recent launch of our Women in Finance Mentorship Program, we recognize the importance of extending that same advocacy to the larger community, offering women from all corners of the industry an opportunity to share their guidance and experience with others. Our goal at STA WIF is to foster a sense of community, and by empowering working mothers to self-advocate and lean on their professional network for support, we aim to provide a platform recognizing the resiliency of women in finance.

The STA Board of Governors proudly honors Wall Street’s moms, saluting those shaping the industry and those who had done so before. Thank you for everything you do!
